Yes I’ve seen you guys mention Lee and Jeff as the good ones and that’s why I only go to channel 7 now for weather lol. If those two are good wouldn’t the rest be following suit with the same forecasts. It’s not like each weather person at the network is coming up with the his/her own forecast right.
Agree. And I find that to be the case. I don’t recall Dani veering off dramatically from the other forecasts on that station.

36 here so i imagine down the shore might start as wet initially before temps drop
It was pretty damn cold walking back from church in NP tonight. Thinking it will be all snow here so on the higher end of accumulations. Shore area could be a different story to start.

Anyone here have a POV on how this weather will impact the Giants game tomorrow from a tailgate perspective?

A big group (some 25 people, 6-8 cars) are going to celebrate my brothers 40th tomorrow. Given the weather, some are not going in and instead watching at the mall.

We were originally going to park in lot J but given how far that is from the mall, we’re thinking of pivoting to lot D, right next to the mall and marginally closer to the stadium.

So questions;
- anyone familiar with lot D; any insights for tailgating?
-given the weather, do we think the lots will still be ‘full’, or more specifically, do you think we’ll have an issue getting spaces close/together provided we get to the lot by 10am?

I know that’s LATE for a usual game but they’re calling for 4-6 inches of snow, tickets are going for as low as $9, and both teams are obviously/unfortunately looking ahead to next season already.
Yes. The giants will lose

Local weather at Monmouth Airport says light rain. No rain here. Looking at radar, looks like we are in a dry slot.

Got back to Metuchen around 10:50 pm from the RU-SHU hoops debacle and it was 34F with light snow and a dusting on the ground. Probably not much accumulation before 1-2 am, due to lighter precip.

NWS just expanded the warnings to include Ocean, Monmouth, Middlesex and Mercer; the warned counties below in pink are now all forecast to get 4-6" of snow. Haven't seen an updated snowfall map though.

After a nice nap, at 3:00 am we're up to 1.6" and snowing moderately at 32F and I just finished my first round of shoveling. Needless to say, it's gorgeous out there, especially with light wind and the snow sticking nicely to all of the trees. What I shoveled was fairly wet, but what is falling now are much drier dendrites of a higher snow to liquid ratio, I'm sure.

4 am and time to make the donuts. But we will really wait till after it stops since its Sunday. My official Komelon tape measure shows 2 inches in Raritan Twp just 25 feet west of Flemington. It's a very wet snow as I was able to make a snowball. So much for using a leafblower which is all I heard from forcasters.

At 4:00 am up to 2.3" at 32F so 0.7" the last hour and it's snowing close to heavily with beautiful 3/8" dendrites. Thinking we'll come close to my 5.0" forecast, but not sure if we'll make the 6" warning criterion.

At 5 am, about 3.0" otg, so another 0.7" the past hour and it's snowing fairly heavily (not crazy heavy but visibility probably 1/4-3/8 mile; temp holding steady at 32F. Radar looks good for another 2", hopefully.

Looks like I see back edge and should be over by 9 am in Hillsborough. BTW, I called the Hillsborough Deli to se if they were open so I could swing by for a coffee and buttered roll but the voice message said they will have a delayed opening stating they don't want anyone going out and dealing with this many inches.

As of 6:00 am we have about 3.6" otg, so 0.6" last hour, and it's still 32F, which is probably why the snow has been a bit wetter than I expected - great packing snow, although not sopping wet, as I just finished my 2nd shoveling of the storm. I think 5" is doable looking at the radar/HRRR model. Here's a pretty pic of the church across the street.

As of 7 am we're up to 4.4" otg and it's still 32F. Saw a report on Channel 7 of 4.8" from Metuchen - sounds a tad high to me, but it's possible. 5-6" looks likely now as I think we'll get another 1-1.5". Stunningly beautiful out there - about to go for a drive, just because.

perfect timing- covered the outside furniture on the patio yesterday afternoon. at about 5am this morning, walking the dogs, looks like 1.5 inches has stuck here in Middletown Delaware and still coming down hard.
The dogs didn't get any snow last year so the were having a blast. Since we can't have fences here, I have to walk them by leash and they walk together in the morning. Trying to hold a 90lb German Shepherd and 65lb Boxer playing in the snow was interesting. lol but fun

Still no snow in Key West but looking at my Ring doorbell looks like just rain in OCNJ. Nothing on the ground

Coming down pretty good in Hamilton. I have not been out there yet. Looks about 4" The radar shows it slowing down around 9ish. I just may have to use the snow blower.

With the way it’s still coming down at 8am, this one might be correct…

5.0" as of 8:00 am, which was my forecast for our house, so we're going to overperform by maybe 1", looking at the radar and the latest HRRR; temp down to 31F. Just went for a drive, for fun, on 27/1/287 in our area and these major roads were all a bit slushy and slippery, but not terrible (could go 40-50 mph on 287); local sidestreets that haven't been plowed are fun to drive on, lol.

Forecast looks pretty good for all of the counties south of 78 (3-5/4-6"), but the storm has way overperformed for places like Sussex/Warren/Morris, Lehigh Valley, Hudson Valley, Poconos, etc., where many have seen 4-7" when 1-3" maybe 2-4" was predicted. NYC is underperforming so far with 2-3" reported - likely due to the urban heat island.

going over 4 inches here maybe even closing in on 5 after heavier band from 6-8 am. Back edge showing up in NW NJ so as that sweeps down we should see winding down in the 9-10 am time frame and a bit later for the coast and eastern areas

so this storm was the little one that could...went from predictions of 1-3 and a dry powdery snow with 5% shot at 6 inches or more and the models kept nudging amounts each nest. Even with that its still generally going to overperform given the updated widespread 3-5 inch forecasted amounts

Just got back from a walk and shoveled a little out front. This is great snowball snow. It's compacted and kinda heavy. That may mess with the totals?
