This question has gone unanswered.

Is it possible that we did land on the moon but had to fake some of the videos because of equipment failure?

Seems it would have been rather hard to achieve that effect with existing technology the time. Though I havent crossed referenced this video for accuracy.

Serious question: How were we able to live stream the landing from the moon but we didn't get to start internet streaming television until this century?

I had this conversation with my buddy yesterday (he doesn't believe we went to the moon) and I didn't have a response for it.

From what I understand the cameras shot at a low frame rate to keep the transmission broadcast small enough to be sent back via NASA's S-band antenna.... that signal was picked up in Australia and California and displayed on a monitor that could convert the signal and then normal broadcast TV cameras filmed THAT monitor and sent that signal out to the tvs around the world.

The technology behind S-band and the like are beyond my understanding

Thank you. It’s all beyond my understanding as well.

I read on the internet and heard it on a podcast that the space shuttle Challenger was actually blown up on purpose because Christa McAuliffe was indoctrinating kids.

Edit: And if you don’t believe me, you are clearly some moron rube. I’ve laid it all out for you WITH PROOF.

I sometimes have difficulty making cell phone calls from my house. I’m kind of out in the country and I have to go to a second floor bedroom to get a signal. But calling the moon should be no problem 60 years ago.

I used to rage out when I got on certain areas of I-95 towards Charleston and I have no service. Absolute rage. Usually along the lines of “if osama bin laden can upload a crappy video from a cave in bumfuckistan in 2005, I should have cell service on one of the busiest interstates in one of the most technologically advanced countries on this planet in 2021”. Haven’t been down that way in a few years, so this technological inconvenience has not been tested since.
