On weekends and weekday nights, I am a taxi driver for my kids. So I listen to a lot of Rutgers football on 660 and basketball on 880. This afternoon, I'll be following the second half on the radio, for example.

What a surprise. The hoped for upside is the eventual end to this useless role and the stupid short interviews with coaches during the game.

Agree 100%. It's the most useless and unnecessary part of a broadcast. Most of the time it's just a way for the network to give a female a job and boost their diversity score. What's the ratio of male to female sideline reporters?
Next get rid of the idiotic pre game shows where 4 or 5 numbskulls sit around and fake laugh at each other for two hours. Just find a job for Alex Flanagan please.

I think originally it wasn't so much for diversity and was more just because most people watching sports also like to see attractive females. The only time they're useful is for injury updates. Spot on about pregame shows, same goes for halftime--it's mostly just an unnecessarily large amount of people laughing with each other or pretending to disagree and yelling at each other. Give me the Xs and Os breakdown of key plays etc. Sports coverage these days is so devoid of actual gameplay substance.
