Can't complain about Wilson today. The defense on the other hand. Yikes!
Agreed they did not step up in big moments. I did not like putting Dart in for plays in the middle of drives. Wilson was playing very well when they did that.

a Colts note Daniel Jones had 300+ yards today and 2 TD’s. One passing and one rushing

With 19 seconds left in the game, the defense ceded too much yardage for Dallas receivers to get downfield. With a 3 point lead and that kicker on the sidelines, the Giants needed to D it up, and they didn't.

4 of the 7 total game winning/tying 60+ yard field goals as time expired in the 4th quarter have came against the Giants.
How’s that for bad luck. Unbelievable

So….a couple questions:

1. How bad is Dallas’s defense?

2. Now that Arch Manning might be a fraud, who do we want with the #1 pick in next year’s draft?

Why on earth would they draft a QB? I doubt they get the #1, but Top 5 is a possibility. Trade it for a lower 1st rounder and other picks. With a new front office pick an OL and DBs.

Owner can’t allow GM to keep job

How can you allow this to happen AGAIN

AGAIN ???????? HOW ?????

I'm not defending the Front Office or HC - they certainly deserve fan scorn. But Gano injury happened during warm-ups so not sure what a Coach of GM is supposed to do at that point. The blame would go back to the pre-season when they decided to bring Gano back for this season.

Just occurred to me this morning that the Giants have lost 14 of their last 15 games (11 of 12 last year after starting 2-3).

How the heck does an NFL team even do that? As the saying goes, "even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while".

Probably going to get worse. Chargers next week.

I’m not suggesting they draft a QB….the Arch Manning comment was sarcastic. NYG v New Orleans in week 5 might be an early battle for pole position for the 1st draft pick.

If that happens, then yeah, the Schoen/Daboll era will be over. Unfortunately, I have zero faith in ownership to get the next hires right.

Dart to start on Sunday per Schefter.
once you make the change you can’t go back IMO.

You can if he gets beaten to a pulp. The OL gave Wilson some time against the Cowboys, but not on Sunday. As Malik Nabers said today "It ain't the quarterback. Same outcome when we had DJ at quarterback." And how is Jones doing in Indy?

If (when?) Giants fire Brian Daboll, here are the top candidates to replace him

1. When Wilson got help from the OL vs. Dallas he didn't stink. When he didn't get help he did. Maybe the problem is not Wilson

2. Didn't Hafley coach at Rutgers late in Schiano 1.0? Funny there's no mention of that in the article.

Dart's going to get the sh*t kicked out of him. They're going to ruin any chance this kid has to try and save their asses. We've seen it so many times, young QB comes in, they play him too early, he loses all confidence and bounces around the league for a while.

Dallas defense this year seems like it has a good chance to be historically awful. Any top 20 defense in the NFL is going to shut down the Giants offense. While Wilson’s game against Dallas was very very good, I‘m not sure we’re going to see that again this year (except maybe in our other matchup with Dallas).

I think Wilson, the O-line, and any other “issue” you can point to on the Giants is just a symptom of a far greater problem, which is ownership has no clue how to bring in a GM and head coach that can build a strong NFL football team in the modern era. Sadly, the Giants have become the Mets under Wilpon.

Brutal assessment but probably true…

Yeah, if the underlying point is that these young QBs would have been excellent QBs otherwise, I’m not sure how much we’ve seen of that. Way more often, I think, we’re seeing the start, middle and end of a journeyman QB’s career.

Dart? Schoen picked him. That doesn’t give me much confidence. Also, he lasted until late in the first round. And, while that doesn’t mean he won’t be good, he would’ve gone earlier if a lot of teams saw great promise. He looked good in the preseason, but that’s preseason. Heck the Giants looked good in the preseason, and they’re terrible. Preseason performance is an erratic predictor .

I’m rooting for him. But I have trouble trusting anything from this GM and coach, both of whom have seemed way out of their depth for quite some time.
