And...the Giants just beat the Chargers.

Now there's tape on Jaxson Dart though.
He played a significant time in the preseason.. I suppose a real game is a bit different re: tape. Chargers have a good D.. might be hard for many teams to match it even with tape. AS I typed this I am marvelling how Green Bay has fallen apart.. or how Dallas has somehow found a way to compete with no Ceedee Lamb.

No Nabers gonna hurt.

No Nabers is definitely gonna hurt.

But keep in mind that, while the team won yesterday, it had only 250 yards of offense. I'm expecting a somewhat of a rocky ride with Dart--heck, he threw for only 111 yards. And Skattebo barely averaged more than 3 yards per carry.

All that, and no Nabers, is going to result in problems down the road. I still don't think Schoen and Daboll know what the hell they're doing.

Agree with all of this. Fun to watch Dart come in and win his first game. Skattebo is going to be a fan favorite for sure with his energy. But the offense was pretty mediocre. Dart was running for his life a good chunk of the game and there were a few situations where he could have avoided a sack and thrown the ball away….that’ll come with experience. The energy from the young guys was fun and the win was great, but we are still a loooooooong way away from an offense to be feared.

And yeah….that pretty much ain’t gonna happen with Nabers out this year. That injury alone may buy Daboll/Schoen another year, I fear.

Skatebo should not be running wide in the NFL. He is shifty but not fast enough to beat NFL linebackers without some kind of serious misdirection to give him a jump on them. Maybe if they can get a WR or TE to screen off LB pursuit he can break a DB tackle.. otherwise just run him between the tackles. (similar should apply to us, Rutgers, when we play the big boys.. running wide.. probbaly not wise)

There is no replacement for Nabers but they gotta get someone somehow. They can’t rely on just Wandale and Slayton. Hyatt is a bust so I wouldn’t count on him.

As good as it was to win you are right Dart didn’t have a great game passing with only 111 yards. I’m sure the game plan changed once Nabers went down. Dart won’t be able to keep up this pace of getting hit this much. He was hurting already during this game. As for Skattebo he’s another one that will not last it seems. He runs hard as hell but that’s his game. 25 runs a game won’t last long. He’s not a speed guy as we saw on that play near the goal line.

Once Nabers went down the offense did hardly anything. Dart I fear will struggle against the Saints.

Yeah.. Nabers absorbed the best cover DB and safety overwatch every snap. Without him, difficulty for the other targets increases as does a defense's willingness to risk man coverage and use safeties in run support.. or blitzing.. or spy Dart to stop his running. Nabers is a devastating loss unless, say, Slayton can surprise us.. or the TE Johnson. Maybe he can keep the LBs and safeties honest. That's what I'd do.. try to make Theo Johnson a weapon.. establish his threat then run Skatebo.. and screens.

Bellinger needs to learn how to put two hands on the ball instead of bracing with one hand for the fall. That's why you have pads dipsh*t.

Have to say Dart is cool, calm and collected when the play breaks down, under pressure and on the move in the pocket. His head is constantly on a swivel and uses his legs as a last resort. I was completely wrong about throwing this kid into the fire.

I might just give up on watching football after that one. 1st the Athan snap through the legs while we're driving for a winning or tying score, now Dart just drops the ball.

My fall weekends would be much more enjoyable without this sh*t. Apple and pumpkin picking now seem appealing, thanks Rutgers and NY Giants.

Alright, back in contention for the #1 overall pick. Trade it because this team needs a lot of help.

5 turnovers….welcome to the NFL Jaxson.

This team is…ummm…not too good.

Nabers goes down and what do we do? Don’t call up a single receiver from the practice squad and instead focus on using TEs more.

Meanwhile, Saquon wins a ring and Daniel Jones is putting up MVP numbers. This organization is a joke.

Why do all my teams have to all suck at the same time, for years and years?

Luckily I did not dislocate my shoulder patting myself on the back.. Too bad they lost.

He had 6 catches on 7 targets.. not his fault. Turnovers weren't in the gameplan.. 2 INTs, 3 fumbles lost.
One team (a previously winless team btw) adjusted well to the Giants game plan. The Giants had no answers once NO adjusted because our geniuses in charge decided to leave WR holes unfilled.
