He played a significant time in the preseason.. I suppose a real game is a bit different re: tape. Chargers have a good D.. might be hard for many teams to match it even with tape. AS I typed this I am marvelling how Green Bay has fallen apart.. or how Dallas has somehow found a way to compete with no Ceedee Lamb.And...the Giants just beat the Chargers.
Now there's tape on Jaxson Dart though.
No Nabers is definitely gonna hurt.He played a significant time in the preseason.. I suppose a real game is a bit different re: tape. Agree with all of this. Fun to watch Dart come in and win his first game. Skattebo is going to be a fan favorite for sure with his energy. But the offense was pretty mediocre. Dart was running for his life a good chunk of the game and there were a few situations where he could have avoided a sack and thrown the ball away….that’ll come with experience. The energy from the young guys was fun and the win was great, but we are still a loooooooong way away from an offense to be feared. No Nabers is definitely gonna hurt.
But keep in mind that, while the team won yesterday, it had only 250 yards of offense. I'm expecting a somewhat of a rocky ride with Dart--heck, he threw for only 111 yards. And Skattebo barely averaged more than 3 yards per carry.
All that, and no Nabers, is going to result in problems down the road. I still don't think Schoen and Daboll know what the hell they're doing.
Skatebo should not be running wide in the NFL. He is shifty but not fast enough to beat NFL linebackers without some kind of serious misdirection to give him a jump on them. Maybe if they can get a WR or TE to screen off LB pursuit he can break a DB tackle.. otherwise just run him between the tackles. (similar should apply to us, Rutgers, when we play the big boys.. running wide.. probbaly not wise)Agree with all of this. Fun to watch Dart come in and win his first game. And yeah….that pretty much ain’t gonna happen with Nabers out this year. That injury alone may buy Daboll/Schoen another year, I fear.
There is no replacement for Nabers but they gotta get someone somehow. They can’t rely on just Wandale and Slayton. Hyatt is a bust so I wouldn’t count on him.No Nabers is definitely gonna hurt.

So many of them with Schoen, in the first and other early rounds.Hyatt is a bust . . .
Yeah.. Nabers absorbed the best cover DB and safety overwatch every snap. Without him, difficulty for the other targets increases as does a defense's willingness to risk man coverage and use safeties in run support.. or blitzing.. or spy Dart to stop his running. Nabers is a devastating loss unless, say, Slayton can surprise us.. or the TE Johnson. Maybe he can keep the LBs and safeties honest. That's what I'd do.. try to make Theo Johnson a weapon.. establish his threat then run Skatebo.. and screens.Once Nabers went down the offense did hardly anything. Dart I fear will struggle against the Saints.
Darts mom stole the showWhy do all my teams have to all suck at the same time, for years and years?
I don't blame the coach for players turning over the ball 5 straight times, unf*(cking realIneptitude is contagious
Coach is a moron
How about the part where the team barely looks coached?I don't blame the coach for players turning over the ball 5 straight times, unf*(cking real
How about averaging 9 penalties for 85 yards/game? Both league highs. How about the part where the team barely looks coached?
Luckily I did not dislocate my shoulder patting myself on the back.. Too bad they lost.Yeah.. Nabers absorbed the best cover DB and safety overwatch every snap. About Nabers being a big loss. Did you pat yourself on the back about the sun going down tonight?Luckily I did not dislocate my shoulder patting myself on the back.. . . .
Reaslly? You color blind? Cannot see blue?About Nabers being a big loss. Did you pat yourself on the back about the sun going down tonight?
And then that game plan fell apart as well after the first two drives.Reaslly? You color blind? Cannot see blue?

He had 6 catches on 7 targets.. not his fault. Turnovers weren't in the gameplan.. 2 INTs, 3 fumbles lost. And then that game plan fell apart as well after the first two drives.
Has the blue font thing gone universal? You're dealing with a lot of old fogies who don't get it.Reaslly? You color blind? Cannot see blue?

One team (a previously winless team btw) adjusted well to the Giants game plan. The Giants had no answers once NO adjusted because our geniuses in charge decided to leave WR holes unfilled. He had 6 catches on 7 targets.. not his fault. Turnovers weren't in the gameplan.. 2 INTs, 3 fumbles lost.
