Somebody needs to be held accountable! It won't be the 10 million dollar club president. Bye bye Carlos and Jeremy.

Is Stearns getting to much credit for Milwaukee's success? The year before arriving in NY, he was sidelined by the team and Milwaukee kept rolling. Is he part of the problem now?

How can you fire a pitching coach ?
You’ll mess up the continuity !!

Hefner has all his pitchers pitching like dog 💩all at the same time !!
THAT TAKES SKILL !!!!

some of you guys wouldn’t have even had one tank Built until after the Germans captured Montreal

HOW CAN NOBODY GET FIRED ???

HOW ??? THIS IS A F—king disgrace
Paul Blackburn just got fired to make room for Nolan McLean. Does that help?

Seriously, nobody is getting fired this late in the season. After the season, if there is no turnaround, some of the coaches will be in jeopardy. I don't think Mendoza is going anywhere, although he will be on the hot seat if they don't get off to a good start next year.

Note I said "if there is no turnaround". Just as this team was not as good as it looked earlier, they are not as bad as they look now. 40 games left. There'll be time enough for counting when the dealing's done.

Only prediction I have about this game is that if McLean has a sucessful debut(which I hope) there won't be much run support to back him.

McLean might have lasted longer in a start than any Mets pitcher that I can remember in the past few weeks lol

A or B ???

A.) Mets played it perfect , kid had enough time to work on everything and was finally ready

B.) Why the hell couldn’t he have been up here a month ago ?? Did he really improve that much in his last 4 starts in AAA ??

Excellent question. I will go with A. Remember this is the first year that McLean has been a full time pitcher

What a terrible send

the camera angle was great and perfect to see Lindor wasn’t at 3rd when the LF picked up the ball , shouldn’t be able to yell he’s out as soon as OF releases ball

Nice thing about having Nolan is that he can serve as an extra PH or even DH/3B/OF in a pinch

Follow up
McLean’s performance make Stearns think harder about Sproat and/or Tong ???
No chance for Tong IMO, they'll give him the rest of the year in Syracuse.

Sproat maybe. Starting Tuesday, the Mets play 16 days in a row. I expect that they will add a sixth starter for that stretch. Could be Montas. Could be an unexciting choice like Waddell. Or it could be Sproat. We shall see.

Phils have actually now lost 4 of the their last 5. Shame that we hadnt capitalized on that before today.

Fun fact about McLean. He was originally drafted by the Orioles in 2022, but they lowballed him in contract negotiations. It has been rumored that the O's didn't like his medicals, but that has never been confirmed. McLean did not sign and instead returned to college for his final year of eligibility. The Mets drafted and signed him in 2023. A Kumar Rocker type story, except we were the beneficiary.

Interesting story on McLean. Played football (3-star QB recruit) and baseball in high school. Played baseball at Oklahoma State, where his nickname was Cowboy Ohtani because he could pitch and hit, where he hit 19 home runs and 47 RBIs, while batting .500 as a sophomore.

In former Mets pitcher news, Wheeler moved to 15 day IL with a blood clot near his shoulder.

McLean’s got good stuff. Command will be the issue.
Some of its trusting his stuff , somebody is going to guess right and hit one 400 ft . Make sure it’s only a solo HR . Scherzer won a few Cy youngs giving up 30 solo HR

Ronnie always says even veterans shy away from a pitch if it gets hit hard, especially if they give up a HR

then Keith follows up … the hitters are getting paid too , it happens to everyone .

That is why Keith and Ron work so well together...
