The best. No stupid nicknames and sayings. Great baseball talk, informative and always a story from Keith and Ron's playing days.Best booth in Baseball.
Hands down.
Wonder why its always so long to get medical news coming from the Mets. I would assume he had the MRI some time this afternoon at the latest. In what world does a catcher with prior hand/finger injuries slide headfirst into any base?
Hoping everything checks out ok and he is back soon. Alvarez has been a beast since coming back up.
This is serious stuff. It is highly unlikely that he will return this year. But even to Phillies fans, that is of secondary importance. He was at risk of being traded to the Angels, in a manner of speaking.Wheeler had surgery to remove blood clot. Timeline for return is unknown.

Don’t think he was referring to the Angels that play in CaliforniaWhy and when?

This reminds me of the JR Richards situation many moons ago. In that case, Richard kept complaining of a tired arm and management kept saying he was soft.https://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/J.R._RichardThis is serious stuff. Following an MRI, the results of which have not yet been revealed, Alvarez is being placed on the 10-day IL.Alvarez to the IL, right thumb injury
Senger will start 10 games at most.Too bad Kevin Parada never developed into a serviceable big league catcher. Hayden Senger isn't really a long term option for us if this is season ending.
I do NOT like the sound of that. Get it done and come back strong in 2026.Alvarez needs surgery. Mets and Alvarez to see if he can play thru it and push the surgery to the off season
I agree. And NO MORE HEAD FIRST SLIDES!!!!!!I do NOT like the sound of that. Get it done and come back strong in 2026.
Does she coach volleyball?Really nice W last night! Glad to see the offense is coming around and Vientos is part of that. Really really sucks about Alvarez. Hoping he can somehow gut it through in a couple of weeks. Super exciting to see the highlights of McLean from Sat! I was upset I missed the start as I was driving most of it. I told you his sweeper is ridiculous!!
I traveled to Pittsburgh knocking another park off my list over the weekend-yesterday. Such a beautiful park and you have to feel for the fans there with their awful ownership. Funny enough I walked by of all people Pat Hobbs at the Pirates game! He had a blue Seton Hall polo on!!! I did a triple take to see what woman he was with.
Carson Benge was hit in the hand with a pitch on Friday, was removed from the game, and placed on the IL on Saturday. Those facts appear to be related, although no official announcement has been made. The DSL regular season has ended. Very very succesful seasons from Pena and Rodriguez. They will both be in FCL next year and then maybe even St. Lucie depending on how the team wants to move them. Some other interesting DSL names to keep an eye on for the future are Josmir Reyes, Junior Amparo, and Roybert Herrera.
Carson Benge was placed on the injured list for AAA but I did not see anything on the injury.

In response to Alvarez' injury and Senger's promotion, the Mets jumped some organizational depth catcher named Onix Vega from Brooklyn to Syracuse, leapfrogging Kevin Parada. Doesn't bode well for our former can't miss guy.
I think that as long as you have video replay, and infielders holding the tag through the play, you will have head first slides. It's easier to maintain control of the base. Sliding feet first, the runner is more likely to lose contact with the base by a millimeter for a nanosecond.I agree. And NO MORE HEAD FIRST SLIDES!!!!!!
