Baez is the perfect example. PCA coming off injury- Baez was our best player after coming over and ended up a disaster.Rarely true, though.

Not at all. But I also didn't forget the meaning of rare.I guess you forgot Yoenis Cespedes!
I think it is more of a function that you just enjoy disagreeing! Not at all. But I also didn't forget the meaning of rare.
I, of course, disagree with that.I think it is more of a function that you just enjoy disagreeing!
Hopefully that translates to the Big Leagues. It is so interesting how things work out in the minors. We all of a sudden have studs pitching when we had almost no one a couple of years ago.
Meh. Ball was hit hard but within Olson's reach. Was a nice play but nothing you wouldn't expect a major leaguer to make.Diaz got the blown save opportunity. The Braves 1B saved his *** too earlier in the inning.
Get rid of the DH.Pete Alonso has proposed a rule change. Allow fighting. Specifically:
I think we can safely say that this idea will not be on the table at the next union negotiations.
- A hitter who has been thrown at (or perceives that he has been thrown at) would be allowed to charge the mound.
- Hockey rules would apply - the fight is mano a mano, no third man in allowed.
- The pitcher can opt out of the fight by taking a knee. Thus exposing himself to public humiliation.
- And my favorite part - the winner of the fight (not sure how this is determined) gets to stay in the game. The loser is ejected.

Pete Alonso Wants 'Hockey-Style' Fights in Baseball
If Pete Alonso had his way, “hockey-style” fights would be allowed in baseball. The New York Mets first baseman madesports.yahoo.com
That has about the same chance of happening as Alonso's idea.Get rid of the DH.

While it's tempting to bring him back up because the two guys we have can't hit a lick, I'd bet that they want Alvarez to have sustained success at the plate and with it bring a better approach back to the major leagues.. . . Alvarez. He remains in Syracuse until further notice. I guess eight passed balls in 20 games will do that to you.
Did you see there is a poster named Cioffineverrana43. For a bit, thought it was you. While it's tempting to bring him back up because the two guys we have can't hit a lick, I'd bet that they want Alvarez to have sustained success at the plate and with it bring a better approach back to the major leagues.
Butto pitched one inning, no runs, two hits, one K. McLean pitching now.Alvarez has just homered again.
Butto is the starting pitcher, I assume as a one or two inning opener.
More concerned about lack of offense. Why even have manaea up if he can only go 4 innings?
whoever Alex Carrillo is I never want to see him in a Mets uniform ever again.
bullpen is a mess and starting a guy who can’t go beyond 65 pitches is a bad recipe
Yeah, because we’re loaded with other starters who can do better right now.Why even have manaea up if he can only go 4 innings?

He's right about the bullpen.Yeah, because we’re loaded with other starters who can do better right now.
I am ok with bringing in Carrillo for the fifth, although I would have preferred Devenski. Mendoza had five innings to cover, and does not have five frontline relievers with which to cover themHad a 4 day break you put in Alex Carrillo. Just give up the game.
