While I am consistently an idiot, only occasionally am I happy to admit it. This is one of those times.
The line on Tylor Megill: 5 innings, 65 pitches, 0 runs, 1 hit, 1 BB, 4 K's.
My guess is that he gets one more rehab start, and then comes up on September 1.
In other Syracuse news, Ryan Clifford 2 HR tonight.

Stealing from Mayer today. Bay has been quite the find so far for UDFA. They might as well move him to Brooklyn already. Ewing acclimated to AA quick. Wenninger keeps rolling as well. Get him to AAA.

On the lighter side, I offer Paul Blackburn's line in his Yankee debut today: 3.1 innings, 71 pitches, 7 runs.
A couple of prospect notes:
1) Sproat is NOT coming up on Monday. Senga will start on short rest (for him).
2) Mike Puma of NYP is reporting that the winds are shifting on Tong, who is starting tonight for Cuse. Looks like the organization may be more amenable to bringing him up this year.

McNeil has had a strange year- when you just look at numbers- it seems like such a bad year- but damn, why does it seem he is in the middle of anything good?
Starting to look like the 2024 Vientos which makes this lineup hard to contain.
Thoughts on minors tonight.
Voit another bad night. He's been awful. Won't base anything on this year but that pick isn't giving me a lot of positive thoughts. I didn't love it at the time and the start backs that up.
Daviel Hurtado another good 4 innings. The pitching is pumping in the minors.
Reimer another two doubles tonight. Turning into a stud hitter. Ewing 2 more hits as well. I said it last night but again can't believe how quick these guys are acclimating to AA. It's almost like Brooklyn is such a bad hitters park that if you can make it there you're going to do better at a higher level.
Girton not good sadly. 0.2 IP 2 ER.
Jett another bad AAA game. I think he'll be fine but I'm a little surprised he just didn't continue his numbers at a new level.
Buried the lead but Watson continues his great numbers and confirms my #1 pitching prospect status below AAA. 6 IP 1 H 0 R 2 BB 5 K 1.70 ERA. Pitching!!

Can Voit have more than 3-4 weeks to get adjusted? Im sure not all of these other guys came flying out the chute. I think I read somewhere that Elian Pena started off like 0 for his first 25-30 or something like that.
BTW- after being able to watch Lindor for a number of years now- this dude’s defense is just special. He may not be Ozzie but his offense is better. What a pleasure watching one of the best at his position in his prime.
Funny Story. We are having a garage sale. Found a Mookie Wilson Bobblehead. Put it out on Friday. Nice guy comes and bolts directly to it. We talk Mets a bit and he buys it.
