If Peterson is our 1, we have no chance. McLean needs to be the ace and is well on his way.My thoughts on the Mets starting rotation for the rest of the "regular" season. #1 Peterson, #2 McLean, #3 Holmes, #4 {Manaea/Senga 4 innings each} #5 Tong. Megill to long relief and we need to settle on the 7th and 8th inning guys.
Well considering the Marlins win 47% of the time, I think maybe you are exaggerating a bit.Not sure how everybody else can beat this team with ease
A tad, but let’s face it this team historically breaks our collective backs way more often than they shouldWell considering the Marlins win 47% of the time, I think maybe you are exaggerating a bit.
Sproat is making a strong case for himself tonight. 7 innings, 91 pitches, 0 runs, 3 hits, 2 BB, 9 K.They should bring up the other rook, Sproat. The experienced starting staff is inconsistent and pretty bad. Can’t rely on them. Maybe these kids can provide a spark. They aren’t going anywhere without a change in this staff.
Another missNews flash Cedric Mullins sucks
WTF? Which in this case means Why The Face? Of the myriad of problems this team faces, Buehler to the Phillies is IMO the least.Buehler signs with Phillies at the deadline.
Manaea has more years. We really need to address the pitching in the offseason. This is getting ridiculous.
Getting? I'd say its been ridiculous. No lead is safe.We really need to address the pitching in the offseason. This is getting ridiculous.
I’d take him over Senga, Holmes, etc in a playoff start no questions asked.WTF? Which in this case means Why The Face? Of the myriad of problems this team faces, Buehler to the Phillies is IMO the least.
Yeah.Good win (ain't they all?) but unsustainable. Got to get back to winning 4-2.
I feel Peterson just had a bad game and will be back to himself. My gut tells me that Manaea and Senga are still not close to 100%. Holmes has really hit an inning wall. Bring up Sproat and see if he can at least give us a couple of starts- for nothing else, but to bring a bit more of a break to those 3.Yeah.
Digging a little deeper, the offense has been way too inconsistent. There have been long stretches of not hitting, followed by long stretches of a ton of hitting, and recently significant stretches during which both of those things happen and not much in between. The offense has much too often been either white hot or icy cold.
And the pitching has fallen off a cliff with the fall gaining velocity. It's gotten so bad that it spread to Peterson. I'm not sure that relying on more and more new guys from the minors is sustainable. At some point, enough of the veterans on the staff have to get their acts together or this will end more quickly than we all want.
