McNeil acting like he wants out of town already. I say buy him a ticket. Just stands there and takes strike three down the middle. Mendoza was not happy.

This particular Mets team doesn't have the fight or the heart to come back in this game. Thats been shown by their record when trailing in games after 8 innings. Not to mention there are too many automatic outs in the lineup. Prove me wrong.

What I certainly do not want to hear post game. 1. "We played well. Just came up a little bit short. " No you didn't play well relative to expectations. And you fell WAY short of expectations. 2. "We have a good team. For whatever reason we didn't have the results." No you proved to be a mediocre team. And you all are the reason for that. You're a team of individual stats not a functioning unit.

Not sure why anyone would be interested in the post game comments at this point.

Glad McLean threw 4 gems in the minors at the same time !
Bunch of excuse making losers
Games aren’t “really” important until after all star break
Never responding to all the HBP against your own teammates

Hopefully cohen takes at least 5 mins out of his day to stop trying to get a casino and fires everyone from top to bottom

Can count on one hand whom I want back next year (with a finger left over)

1. Soto (Duh)
2. McLean ( see #1)
3. Tong ( show glimpses should be OK)
4. Sproat ( see#3)

We also need to bring back all other young player (Mauricio, Baty, Alvarez, Ventos) and surround them with players that have a winning mentality. Too many players that have accepted losing as appropriate. We need to get leaders that are vocal.

True my post was a bit knee jerk reaction. My guess isAlvarez is back. Regarding the other three depending on other options I see us maybe trading one of them

Putting misery and rage aside for a moment, here is what I think:

1) Stearns isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Cohen waited two years for him. He is here for a long time.

2) What could (and I think will) happen is that Stearns will hire a General Manager. That was the plan all along and I am not sure why it hasn't happened yet.

3) Pretty sure Mendoza will be back, albeit on the hot seat. If the Mets have the same start that they had in 2023, he could be in serious trouble. Their bench coach, John Gibbons, could step in at mid season as interim manager. Not only does he have almost 800 managerial wins, he is a former Met who caught Sidd Finch.

4) I can see Hefner getting the ax. His pitching lab philosophy, based on better to nibble than to challenge, seems to have run its course.

5) I think it's a coin flip as to whether Chavez and Barnes go. This team DID hit in 2025, at least there are a ton of statistics that say they did. But Chavez's emphasis on keeping things simple, which de-emphasizes situational hitting, may also have run its course.

6) As far as personnel decisions, I think Cohen will leave that to Stearns, and will open the checkbook when Stearns asks him to. I don't think there will be any more Soto type signings which was pretty much all Cohen.

Obviously Lindor and Nimmo will also be back, whether we want them or not.

As far as the prospects go, there are only four whom I consider untouchable: McLean, Tong, Benge, and Pena. Anyone else, I'm willing to listen, although you probably wouldn't meet my price.

I know mostly everyone might disagree with me but the arrow is still pointing up with this franchise. This season sucked balls and if Shakespeare were writing it I'm not sure if this is a drama or comedy. Lots of blame to go around and a twinge of baseball gods having a good time with us. I'm really really disappointed but when I think with my head and not my heart we're still in an overall excellent spot and I still believe we're going to get a ship finally within a few years.

Farm system very good. Already benefitted with players like Tong McLean Sproat Mauricio. Question becomes do the Mets continue to build the youth movement with Benge Jett etc? Pete already gone so need a first basemen. Not sure I trust anyone on our current roster so either sign free agent or trade a chip. I still believe in Peterson. Go sign an Ace. Mclean, Tong Sprout will be just fine. Wild card is Senga. Can he figure it out after his injuries. Will have off season to figure it out.

I would not assume that Pete is gone. That he would opt out was a given. But if Stearns and Cohen show him the money, he will be back.

Hope you are right but don’t trust Pete’s agent. Pete said all the rightt things, loves the Mets, loves NYC.

As of right now, I think I’ll still go to Spring Training in 2026.

But with entirely different expectations and prospective.

most concerning thing to me is Stearns whiffed at the deadline, and the brewers have actually gotten better since he left. We sure he’s this baseball genius??

I am sure of nothing, but my opinion doesn't matter. Only one opinion matters, that of Steve Cohen. By all accounts, David Stearns is still very much in Uncle Steve's good graces.

There's no such thing as a baseball genius(Theo being the closest) but yes he's very good. He made some mistakes this season like everyone from him on down to the players. The Brewers are set up well because of his work there.
