Schmidt comes back this week. Gil in a few months.

At least it's clear that Stroman won't make his innings clause to kick in the final year of his contract. That's a huge win for the Yankees!

Warren as a 5th starter for now is fine if the rest of the staff can get their heads out of their asses and pitch like they are capable of. They need to find someone else to take over for Carrasco. He's beyond cooked.

SSDD...

HR or bust.

This club has made an art form out of not scoring guys from 3rd base with less than 2 outs.

Considering what they're getting from Bellinger/Wells/Chisholm/Volpe...outside the occasional HR, being 13-7 is pretty damn good.

Admittedly, the schedule has been relatively soft.

WEAVER SHOULD BE THE CLOSER!!!!!!!

Williams can't handle the pressure.
Boone better figure this **** out.

And while he's at it...send Bellinger back to the Cubs for a warm up jacket and a bag of balls.

Talk about pissing it down your leg.

In Yankees world, this is where they send the player off for an "exam" and they find something to put him on the IL. Something like arm fatigue.
These are the kind of games that cost you home field in the post season.

Watching Bellinger in his last AB and he looks absolutely lost. Hasn't hit anything hard for a couple weeks.

Regarding Williams...if he's a head case, the demotion to "set up guy" might ruin him.

Yeah, I don't know what's wrong with Williams. He's never pitched like this before. He has a 2.07 ERA for his entire career.

If he can't pitch in NY, at least they only have him for the season.

He absolutely looks cautious and hesitant.

And I still hate closers that can't blow guys away.

Boone better wake up, cause what he's doing isn't working.

Fried loses the no-hit bid with a single from the first batter of the 8th inning.
He lost it when the official scorer reversed the error in the 6th to a single in the middle of the 8th.

And how the hell can the umpires get the call wrong on Judge, taking away a mammouth HR? It was obviously a fair ball.

Yeah pretty terrible. MLB umps are walking relics…they will be the first of any sport to be relieved of their duties.

Williams has been a total bumb since coming over here. He was dominant before and now he looks like a minor leaguer throwing batting practice. I don't get it.

It's pretty obvious that a switch has to be made to see if we can salvage anything from him.

He's making Clay Holmes look like Cy Young.

And I'm going to continue to say it until I'm six feet down...nowadays, your closer has to be a swing and miss fireballer.

Announced before today's 1st game that Williams is no longer the closer. Don't know what his role will be or if they find a mystery alignment to put him on the IL.

Yankees rolled today. Laid off the starting pitchers slider, curve etc which all were low. He has 5/6 walks in a row.

According to Yank announcers, going into 2025 a team leading off the 1st with 3 consecutive HR's had happened 10 times in MLB history. The Yanks have now done it twice in a month. On Mar 29 they did it vs Milw on 3 pitches. Tonight vs Balt Grisham, Judge, and Bellinger did it in 5 pitches.

Does Boone think he's being clever inserting the lowest batting average of the starters into the leadoff spot?

You know he sux when he could go one for five and actually RAISE his BA.

JFC, Bellinger is stinking the place up right now.

SSDD....nearly every time Warren pitches, he gives up a bunch of runs early and the game is over by the 5th inning.

Such a crap product.

He wasn't supposed to be starting; he's not ready. He was supposed to be in the pen for long relief and getting seasoning. All that changed when we lost Cole and Gil. Carrasco wouldn't be starting either. They need to trade for a starter. Not going far in the postseason with this rotation.

The problem is that it has become more difficult to trade for starters. With the extra wild card, more teams are reluctant to give up on the season early. Also, it's way too early for trades right now anyway.

Agreed, but Warren seldom pitches against the better teams and still gets pummeled.
Tampa is one of the worst offenses in MLB.

Obviously, he's not the only problem...Wells, Volpe, the Martian, Bellinger, Leiter, and Williams have all sucked this season so far.
