Ohtani just pitched a complete game 1 hitter in first game of DH vs Tigers.
No Ohtani
Seems like a pretty good player.Ohtani just pitched a complete game 1 hitter in first game of DH vs Tigers.
Yes of course. Because his name is Shohei Ohtani!Well he ain't no Babe Ruth!
How about Mounds?Well he ain't no Babe Ruth!
Who the hell pitches a complete game in today's game?
Now that would be old school. If he pitches the 2nd game I'll REALLY be impressed![]()
Hit two homers in Angels 11-4 win in the 2nd game. Not a bad day's work.Exactly
MehHit two homers in Angels 11-4 win in the 2nd game. Not a bad day's work.
Yanks will sign him next year, he starts to work out with Judge and Stanton and he will have muscle injuries in his leg and arm..,
I'd go with RIck Wise in 1971. He no hit the Big Red Machine, beating them 4-0. He also hit 2 HRs, driving in a total of 3 runs.Maybe the single greatest day a baseball player ever had.
There were 36 complete games last season. Not sure how many so far in 2023.Who the hell pitches a complete game in today's game?
Who cares about the MVP award? Make the playoffs if you want to impress people. If he doesn’t win AL MVP then I’ll stop watching this sport
Definitely not. As a hitter, SO is barely a patch on Ruth's fanny.Well he ain't no Babe Ruth!
Joey Gallo hit .157 playing for the playoffs making Yankees last yr. Was that impressive?Who cares about the MVP award? Make the playoffs if you want to impress people.
If you are the best player on the team, make it happen. Ohtani owes the Angels a lot of performance. He first three seasons were injury plagued and below expectations. 2021 and 2023 are MVP years, but in 2022 his batting was meh and only pitched 166 innings. Not a winning player.Joey Gallo hit .157 playing for the playoffs making Yankees last yr. Was that impressive?
Not a winning player?!?!?! Shocking you aren’t an MLB GM with that acumen. If you are the best player on the team, make it happen. Ohtani owes the Angels a lot of performance. Maybe the dumbest statement I have ever read. It’s funny when 34 HR’s 875 OPS is meh…If you are the best player on the team, make it happen. Ohtani owes the Angels a lot of performance. He's making up for the poor performance over the first 3 years. The current 6-year contract was fairly valued.Maybe the dumbest statement I have ever read. It’s funny when 34 HR’s 875 OPS is meh…
And he pitched 166 inning to a low 2 era.
He makes 30 mil this year. Would you sign a pitcher that pitched 166 innings, won 15 games and K’d 220 to a 15 mil contract? Would you sign a hitter that will most likely go 40+ HR 900+ OPS to a 15 mil contract. Both would be steals.
I am hoping my meter is off…or, you just shouldn’t ever talk baseball again
First 3 years were meh- but he was paid nothing. Then you had 2 years at just over 4 mil each year that h gave you an MVP and 2nd in MVP.He's making up for the poor performance over the first 3 years. The current 6-year contract was fairly valued.
Got it, my bad. Wasn't sure of the early years of his contract. Definitely outperforming it now. However, people need to remember this. There likely have been a lot of players capable of doing what Ohtani is doing now. The only difference is that baseball never let them play both sides in the past (even Babe was forced to give up pitching). I hope this changes.First 3 years were meh- but he was paid nothing. And now 30 mil for a runaway MVP season.
He made up the first 3 in spades in his next 2…he owes tge Angels and their fans nothing. He has given more to his team than any other player.
My guess is he has 3 years max of doing both going forward. But those 3 years are a goldmine to whoever signs him. Even though it will take a 10 year 500 mil contract.Got it, my bad.
