It seems like nobody realizes that sign stealing in itself is not illegal. The NCAA bylaw reads, “Off-campus, in-person scouting of future opponents (in the same season) is prohibited” … In fact this rule was put in place not because of competitive advantage but because it was a cost cutting measure in 1994.
Teams steal signals from each other ALL the time. By B1G rules teams MUST provide sideline video of every game. What is stupid is that some teams, knowing this, don't bother changing their signs even from year to year.
Greg presumably was mad at halftime that UM was stealing signs, then why not have the team huddle before snaps in the 2nd half? Or run the plays in with a player? Or shield the signs?
