Really solid actor. Besides Officer, also did Roots, Raisin in the Sun, Blue Chips and bunch of others. Who would rather have as drill sargent, him or R Lee Ermey?
RIP. Also on 2 episodes of Rockford Files. One with the great Isaac Hayes, who died way too young.
My favorite movie with Louis Gossett Jr. actually made me appreciate him more than ever . “Enemy Mine”. A depiction of two space travelers who find they need each other in order to survive far from home. RIP Mr. Gossett .
