3 inches on pavement in Belle Mead so add another half inch at least on grass
Did you guys also get the sleet on the bottom? Made shoveling a pain as the bottom inch or so was like concrete. I assume that doesn't affect plowing much, but maybe it does - any impact on you? Anyone who leaves that on the ground is going to regret it tomorrow morning as it'll be frozen concrete. Glad I did a first shovel before it was too deep.

This updated storm total forecast from news 12 actually looks really good taking into account what's fallen so far and radar trends and short term forecasts - not too different from the NWS most recent map I had posted earlier and both look to be doing better than the models at 6Z that I discussed around 5 am, which were showing a lot more snow along/S of 195/276. This storm has not been the finest hour for the models.

Just noticed that the NWS-Philly had updated their snowfall map earlier, catching up as the NW areas have really overperformed. Also, the 6" line is now down to 276/195. NWS-NYC also upped totals esp NW areas.

It's all about the intensity of the snowfall. It'll stick at 35F at midday in April with over 1" per hour snowfall rates
Dear snow gods, not jinxing things in any way, but it has let up significantly. Very light snow now. Is it a dry slot? IDK. Is it the end of the accumulation? Hope so.

Didn't get sleet. It just changed to snow about 4am. I did my driveway and threw salt down. Bigger sidewalks wwe will use big snowblower. I'm sure town will plow chunks onto the sidewalks. Getting by garage doors is bacs job by hand. Maybe use push snowblower on customers front walks to door depends on how energetic bac is.

Slowed down a lot in East Windsor. I just checked the ring camera at my house in Hamilton and looks like my driveway is less covered now than it was a hour ago. I’ll take that

Snow intensity in the Boro has lessened. Road in development plowed about 1/2 ago and not too much accumulated since.

Still coming down strong in Essex County . Just did a first pass on the driveway, about 4” accumulation. Thankfully very little sleet at the bottom.

Still got a few hours of heavy stuff to go through for most of CNJ/NNJ/SENY/NYC/LI and combined with temps staying right around 32F have allowed the snow to accumulate easily with minimal melting, which is what I expected to see based on the models. Nice illustration from this guy...

How about down the shore here near Belmar/Manasquan. Seems to be stalling out. Very large intermittent flakes falling but little accumulation.

The purpose is to allow the district to protect against the complete bust of a storm. The decision time and notification to be a bit later in the morning, and they can get the day in if at all possible. Most districts in Central NJ are on their last day, or are eating into spring break with this one.
Yeah because they blew it when they closed schools on that Friday nothing storm.

Just drove from Scotch Plains area, near North Edison to downtown Summit.
Summit Road approaching route 78 crossover from route 22 was littered with cars stuck on the hill there. Very sketchy, for a road that is a main road for ambulances to travel to get to Overlook. Saw one ambulance stuck on the hill. Also the road right in front of the hospital, Morris Avenue, was barely touched and cars stuck there too.
Rest of the ride was slow, but ok. Shameful job by Summit though.

Woke up at 4, had about 1-2 inches down, but snowing lightly. At 7 it was coming down steadily, still coming down now.

Temperature has remained steady at 29° since last night.

Took a measurement at 9:15, and we're right at 7 inches so far.

Been snowing pretty heavily the past hour, so as of 8:30 am we have 4.0" on the ground, so that was 1.75" the past hour, which is ripping. Just did my first driveway/sidewalk shovel and that's heart attack heavy snow, especially the bottom half which has the sleet/wetter snow. The snow the past hour has to be greater than 10:1 ratio snow - much drier and gorgeous dendrites. 32-33F right now.
As of 9:30 am 4.5" of snow on the ground at 32F as we only got 1/2" over the last hour, due to being stuck in what looks like a subsidence lull. Might keep us from getting above 6" if this doesn't end soon.

Just shoveled for an hour in Bound Brook. It's incredibly heavy at the bottom. I'd say about 3 inches or so here.

Next is tidal flooding. Didn't see much . High tide is about 45 mins. I should be just fine but there may be a delay getting to the beach area.
we have had tidal flooding every day for the last 8 days now and continued to happen over the next couple days. Hard rain all night and its just starting to snow a little here but not sticking

so in the past hour, we have actually have less on the pavement than an hour ago...maybe 2.8 inches its melting and compacting and with the lighter intensity and temps now 34

figure there is 4 on the grass
