Tesla has begun sending out invitations for the upcoming Artificial Intelligence Day on August 19. Autonomy Day (2019) didn't move the stock. Battery Day (2020)sent the stock plummeting. What will AI Day do?

And especially for my buddy @jtung230...

"Join us in Palo Alto, CA on August 19, 2021 at 5 pm PDT. This invite-only event will feature a keynote by Elon, hardware and software demos from Tesla engineers, test rides in Model S Plaid and more. Attendees will be among the first to see our latest developments in supercomputing and neural network training. They'll also get an inside-look at what's next for AI at Tesla beyond our vehicle fleet."

Pretty unusual for "just a car company". 😜

I already conceded that to you. They are a crypto shop too with master of coin.

BTW, have any of you been watching Albermarle for the last month?
I saw it on the ticker today up around $220, so up around 30ish% in a month. That's a nice move for sure.

I see earnings were yesterday, beat on earnings, missed on revs.

The Biden agenda certainly a tailwind.

I see VIAC on the downward trend list, but they do have advertising streaming services that are growing, I think that is helping push it upwards today as well.

ROKU certainly the pure play growth stock, but VIAC is a company with solid earnings and a cheap multiple.

KW in a front page article in the weekend WSJ. Not glowing, not damning which makes it pretty reasonable in my view.

If Crypto gets running again, will that redirect money flows away from the meme stocks?

I'm thinking it will.

Market had a little bump in extended on ppi #'s, as inflation shows signs of moderation. Not across the board moderation, but looks like a fair amount.

COIN, initially fell off earnings after the close yesterday, but has bounced back into the green.

Beats across the board, but lower trading volumes, as the prices of crypto dropped, on the platform early in this current quarter, as well as cloudy guidance led to the initial drop. But then I think people realized crypto is now running again, thus that cloudy guidance could actually be another big quarter.

I bought MRNA last week, buy high sell higher, and was up a quick 20%, but a BAC call putting the value in the $100's led to an 8% sell off yesterday.

Look's cheap on a p/e basis this year and next, but beyond that? Unless Covid keeps rolling, or their pipeline really starts to produce it could get real expensive real quick.

+1
Good inflation data for the market (and the transitory POV).

COIN is an interesting investment idea. I have a bunch of it in ARKF, but I probably won't add it directly to my crypto portfolio.

I had gotten in around $9 not long after the direct listing.

Sold it somewhere in the mid 20's, didn't get in on the May dip(Did it get to $15? Looks like $18 would have been some ballsy and impeccable timing) but I have been watching it hover around $22 for the last month.

Does look to be trading at over 100x next years earnings. And that's before you consider this nugget "Under generally accepted accounting principles, the company lost 7 cents a share, in line with estimates."

22ishx next years rev's?

Growth looks good, but not that good to support those multiples.

anybody like PENN after the 6 month correction?
A pretty reasonable multiple at 26x. Has both the reopening and the digital play. Growth looks modest but they have smoked estimates the last 2 earnings calls, and 3 of the last 4. The stock didn't react well to either of the last 2 reports, maybe cause of Covid concerns hanging over them? Maybe because the run through the early part of this year had gotten so hot and those #'s were needed to justify the already falling stock price?

This level does look to be support from their Sept Oct highs when they saw high volume. Volumes have pretty steadily decreased since the covid dip overall. I think those both play in it's favor.

I tend to think they should rebrand under the barstool name. At least their digital casino's. Penn national sounds like a bank, or a railroad.

If that's the basis for investment we're at the equivalent of getting tips from your barber, cabbie or newsstand guy. Look out below.

Nice earnings for the quarter. They have a great product, but I'm not sure if they have a great company (or leadership).

You would think that the guys who have been so wrong about the impending crash of this market wouldn't act so smart.

We were hearing the "tips from a cabbie" line, 1200+ S&P points ago.

They are in sectors you want to be in. They have the gov't contracts. Now it's about getting into the private sector.

What's odd is they've been around a long time, and never got into those private sectors before. Were never profitable before. I guess the money from going public is helping spur the growth.

Still looks pricey for solid but not great growth. Will have to beat those expectations which is certainly possible.

You mean the guys who invested in GME at 325 and AMC at 72? Or bitcoin at 60,000 for that matter, although that may change tomorrow or this afternoon. Just don't insult me and call it currency.

GME or AMC? Nah I don't mean those guys.

We were talking PENN.

I would give it a little bit more time to consolidate in the 70’s and then jump back in after October unless there is a catalyst that moves the stock up
70.74 as we speak. I talked myself into it and bought it at $69.84.

You might be right about waiting. Maybe until Covid starts to recede. But I have a moderate size position now, can always add.

No, we're talking about buying a stock because the name sounds good. Ahoy, cabbies and barbers!!!
Branding does matter. Name recognition is important. Not that it was my only point, but I don't think it's a frivolous one.
