Welp, this aint working.

But what does that one betting guy say? Dont be a moron put more on? So I bought some calls.
Dow hit 44K and S&P 500 over 6K.....but both closed a little under. Regardless, record highs for all 3 indexes.

Common sense = if shares don't work, sell them and buy calls to make your money back! :)

I suspect there will be a pullback after which the market will run again. Lots of money on the sidelines and jn MMs looking for a home.

BTW, You wanna see an insane chart Carvana is up 618% in 1 year.

P/E listed as 28.74K 🤣 Their trailing twelve month looks like it went from loss to very slight profit after the most recent quarter. They seem to have some momentum.

Just beware. Historically, the first year of a presidential term, no matter which party wins, is a down market.

Hahaha you big mad!
Not really. I’m old and am able to navigate the nonsense with savvy. In fact I have a four year supply of sneakers already. I pity younger folks who will have to endure four more years of the nonsense. Just today, Elon Dogecoin indicated that he is in full agreement with MAGA Senator Mike Lee’s tweet where he says Trump should end the Fed. Has to be one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard on many levels. Truly infantile stuff.

I’ve been a casual reader of this thread since
it’s inception.

Looks like there are only a couple mentions in almost 800 pages of my big stock since Covid - Axon.

This stock has slowly ripping the past 4 years and beats earnings quarter after quarter.

I sold my position after last quarter (about $365 a share) and it’s over $500 a share after close today with another big earnings beat.

Hoping to get back in there on a dip but kicking myself for selling.
And now it is $600! Wow. It just keeps rolling.

Incredible day for Axon.

I held the stock since 2020 and sold after last quarters earnings shot it up to $365 a share.

Was very happy with my gains but man did I sell at the worst time. It’s now over $600 just 3 months later.

Hoping to get back in. They dominate body cameras and cloud storage.

I think it was Michael Batnick on the Compound who said something along the lines of, the hardest thing to do is to let your winners run.

I owned, and sold PLTR way early in this run. Pretty good trade on face value, but terrible trade given it's up 4x(fack that hurts to say) since.

The RUT just 2% off it's ATH.

Does it struggle for a bit before breaking through?

And I don't see how it doesn't break through in the relatively near term.

Wasn’t there a discussion about BTC and people didn’t count the performance under Biden until Jan 2021?

ETA went back and checked and @voltz99 thinks this stock market movement is still credited to Biden. Only under Trump after inauguration.

The issue is that letting your winners run is in conflict with the taking profits theory, or as Cramer says “bears make money, bulls make money, pigs get slaughtered…”

I blew it on Palantir too although recently got back in.

BTC opened at 36k the day Biden was inaugurated. Makes a difference.

You must be a BidenBot. Fuzzy math. Just make up stats to suit your agenda.

You probably tell people the cities are neat, clean, safe, low taxes and have good public schools.
Just a reminder

PLTR is currently trading 47x Rev's. 282x P/E.

I don't much mind the high P/E, for companies this early in their growth curve I think it's not super relevant.

But that price to rev's is crazy high. People raved about their most recent earnings(Q3), but rev's only grew 33% yoy, which is great, but is it 47x price to rev's great?

The one thing I will say is that growth rate actually increased fairly significantly from both Q2yoy(27%) and the prior year Q3yoy(17%). Does that growth rate continue to accelerate? It has to to maintain these lofty valuations.

Still I want back in. I might have to stick a pinky toe in just to make the stock come back to earth.

No recommendations on leverage inverse ETF on TSLA? I only see a 2x in the us.
Can't let emotions drive your stock trading. TSLA will do well. Under normal circumstances, no way FSD would get approved, but with Musk essentially wing the election for Trump, he will get to dictate policy. FSD will get pushed through.

Under Trump, it will be much easier to pick stocks. Once Trump announced that he wasn't selling his DJT stock, that became an automatic buy. I bought a bunch today. I have a feeling that this administration is going to look past a lot of conflict of interest ethics while working for the government.

By the way, why isn't China pushing any stimulus that directly gives money to people? They keep throwing money at the local governments.

Unless Musk and Trump have a falling out, TSLA has a sugar daddy in the White House for the next 4 years. No way is it a sell right now. Are you still holding ZETA? That's my single biggest stock right now (in my personal account).

Trump and EVs are not a good mix. Musk have so many other ways to get paid. Saw the news that Trump had Musk on the call with Zelensky. Ukraine will pay for Starlink.

For Tesla, they need FSD to take the next step and justify valuation.

How are you feeling about it now? Bought at $18'ish. Seems super extended, but hey, I own a lot of stocks like that. LOL! Moved my stop loss to $45.
Can't sell PLTR at this point. It has ~ quintupled for me and the taxes would be too much. I am not even selling call options at this point. It is a long term hold for me.

I still have ZETA, but it isn't in the top 10 of my holdings. I don't own any ETF's or mutual funds so my top holdings just get bigger

I did the same with NVDA. Bought at 282, sold at 385, missed the run and the split.

I bought a bunch of this in both my IRAs. I like the approach
I've been using Tom Lee's Granny Shots for the past year and a half via a custom stock basket on Fidelity (since I signed up for his research). It's been amazing! I will be adding GRNY to my retirement accounts. Just need to do some work this weekend to figure out where to reallocate the money from (definitely VOO and perhaps VIG).

I bought some crypto on Coinbase today. Not a ton, but bought some SOL(looks like it wants to break out) and added a little BTC(also looks like it wants to break out.....if it already hasn't).

Spurred on by this weeks Compound and Friends. They had a chart lady on this weeks show and she liked the looks of it(wasn't as hot on equities in the near term).

I also like the Trump story right now. If they US buys into BTC, and Venezuala looks like a genius for getting in early(does anyone know at what price they bought in?) what other countries look to jump in. But the US Gov't on it's own can push this higher.

I also see the US Gov't buying more BTC as validation of the asset class, and more US institutions(pensions, retirements etc) will follow.

If the US and other govs start buying, it's hard to fathom where the price might go.

Smart move. Sol is about to go into price discovery. Have recommended this in our crypto chat but adding some $bonk on coinbase as a Solana beta play is my suggestion.

Most countries don’t have money to “invest”. Maybe the government can just confiscate it. That’s even a better way to reduce the deficit.
