Which stock did you buy?I buy a stock right before it reports record earnings, and it grinds down about 20%. I'm thinking of starting a fund...I'll pick the stocks, you guys with more money than I'll ever see can short the stocks, and when they tank, I'll take a small percentage of your shortside gains. Deal?
Interesting that you didn't compare market caps? LOL!
another guy who didn't read Belly's memo. Here is some math. VW up 70% YTD and TSLA is down 6% YTD. Ouch
Do you really want to be reminded how over value TSLA's stock is?Interesting that you didn't compare market caps? LOL!

Don't ask me that question, wasn't me that started comparing companies. And yes, TSLA is years ahead of VW on EV tech.Do you get extra return because you bought a stock with a large market cap?
NFT or a model S? Tough choices for Bitcoin owners.

Aren't you on record saying something like this thread shouldn't be taken seriously given how much BTC and TSLA talk we see here?Do you really want to be reminded how over value TSLA's stock is?

I hate to even get in on, and thus keep this TSLA convo going, but that tech should be the driver which leads to where you bought and sold the stock.Doesn't matter where there tech is. As an investor the only thing that matters is where you bought and sold the stock.
I am. I’m also on record I have no horse in this race right now. Just adding to the discussion by providing perspective.Aren't you on record saying something like this thread shouldn't be taken seriously given how much BTC and TSLA talk we see here?
I bought AAPL a couple weeks before they announced earnings. Stock price topped and sold off like they were selling cancerous materials to children.Which stock did you buy?

Those #'s are pretty disingenuous given the respective moves in 2020.My point was that results matter. In that scenario you were either up 70% or down 6%. Personally I would rather be up 70%.![]()

All those articles are saying things that’s been said already. Competition is coming. The question about is gap narrowing or widening. I’m not making any personal statement or calls. You're not adding to the discussion. You are pouring gas on a tire fire.
How much cash do you need in your account for the short?I’m all in on my GME shorts. The rockets to the moon seems to have problems.
Too much in E*TRADE. Will do the next trade in my ML acct which doesn’t have that requirement. I covered most of the shorts. Now it’s just the puts. They were bought at terrible basis. Let’s see if it can make a miracle comeback. How much cash do you need in your account for the short?
Exactly. It's played out. Let's move on.All those articles are saying things that’s been said already. Competition is coming. The question about is gap narrowing or widening. I’m not making any personal statement or calls.
Why is VIAC tanking? Any news?Materials dominating.
VIAC tanking.
Ridiculous run followed by a stock offering announced today(or yesterday). Why is VIAC tanking? Any news?
XLE up 3%
No one likes dilution. Same thing happened with QS.Ridiculous run followed by a stock offering announced today(or yesterday).
So interesting to see where the line is drawn and how the stock reacts going fwd, but just given the above, I don't think it's a big deal. Just another of those short term stingers from an otherwise amazing move.
Exactly. It's played out. Let's move on.
AAPL is a real company with real earnings sitting on a mountain of cash and it’s owned by just about every endowment, pension fund, etc. It may not have been a great entry point but you’ll be fine in the long term absent some black swan event. I wouldn’t be surprised if at some point AAPL catches fire with the RH traders once spec tech and the SPAC craze completely crashes.I bought AAPL a couple weeks before they announced earnings. Stock price topped and sold off like they were selling cancerous materials to children.
I normally sell off before the earnings, I believe that 80% stocks drop after earning even when they beat expected earnings and sales especially if they lower their future forecast. Observation after investing for 45 years. If I’m wrong, right after the earnings come out, you can buy the stock after market if you expect it to continue upward.I bought AAPL a couple weeks before they announced earnings. Stock price topped and sold off like they were selling cancerous materials to children.
I have some AAPL, $124 avg cost, and I expect to move up shortly but it’s an automatic if you hold for 1-2 years.AAPL is a real company with real earnings sitting on a mountain of cash and it’s owned by just about every endowment, pension fund, etc. It may not have been a great entry point but you’ll be fine in the long term absent some black swan event. so you buy a car and pay a boat load of capital gains tax. Sweet!!! Does it work the other way too (loses)?

It's had a big run, lots of sentiment that that will continue. Current p/e of 13x, with earnings expected to grow yoy for the for seeable.Got GM a few weeks ago, although dipping, Im holding for a comeback...thoughts?
The support level seems to be around $42. Maybe it doesn't need to get there.Looks I it was a good thing I traded some QS. Will look to buy more around 47.
