CCIV/Lucid motors finally approved. Love the stock or hate it, it’s been non stop theatre to watch this spac. I’m a fan and look forward to see where it goes once it normalizes.

Biggest week of the earnings season coming up! Something wrong with the link. I'll try to repost later.

I hate these stupid articles. Yes, save a lot of money and live within your means. The rest is just silly.
Also, take control of your career, be loyal to yourself over a company. Also, marry well.

Keys to success in America.

Like I said, silly stuff. You know anyone who turned down a 45% raise to be loyal? Forget marry well, just be born into a rich family.

There are plenty of foolish people that don't look for those 45% raises at other companies. Marry well and then have kids should be on the list.

Lots of folks need such lessons in common sense.

Sofi finally popping. That one has been painful.

Top of my board is a good mix of tech and cyclicals.

This one has been tough. It is very difficult to time a bottom for an IPO. There is not enough financial date and the technical chart has not developed. However re-reading through the SEC reports, $15 would have been a good guess for a bottom. Just be patient, the selling should be close to subsiding.

@rutgersdave are you selling into earnings on the mega techs?
Normally I would sell most of them into the earnings, all of them have gone up to significant new highs. I sold GOOG and selling MSFT before today close and keeping AAPL, FB and AMZN thinking they can run even further base on what I have been reading about them. However, might sell 1/2 before earning call depending on how they trade.

Even if I sell, I will probably buy back at lower prices (7-15% lower) next quarter. Wait till the analysts tell everybody to rotate out of tech is when you should buy, it’s the same routine every quarter. If it doesn’t work, then you have to become a long term investor and hold for two quarters. Other stocks that I trade seasonally like mega techs are UNH, PYPL, HD and AMGN.

@WhichReligionIsRight

Thanks for posting. Now I can see what is driving the big jump in net income (Income from Operation/servicing). I thought EV were lower cost to operate but service revenue jump doesn’t support that. How much does TSLA make for a service call?

Stupid post, as usual. This also includes discretionary upgrades and software enhancements that owners can buy.

Great quarter by TSLA.

The chinese private tutoring stocks are ridiculous. EDU was $200 in Feb. It's now below $3.
FYI - ARK is dumping Chinese stocks big time. Doesn't seem logical for the Chinese government to tank their own markets, after talking them ups for years.

Good business. Sorry, I know you hate TSLA and any good news. Time to move on and save the hate for another day.
Spoken like a true retail investor. They always ask why is the stock not popping or even down after an earnings beat. Quality of the earnings is more important. The question to ask is if you can underwrite the revenue.

@BellyFullOfWhiteDogCrap

maybe you can help explain the big jump in operating/servicing revenue jump.

All of this stuff is on the slide deck:

Q2 Financials

Our operating income improved in Q2 compared to the same period last year to $1.3B, resulting in an 11.0%
operating margin. This profit level was reached while incurring SBC expense attributable to the 2018 CEO award
of $176M in Q2, driven by a new operational milestone becoming probable.
Operating income increased YoY mainly due to volume growth and cost reduction. Positive impacts were partially
offset by growth in operating expenses including increased SBC, Model S/X ramp (negative margin in Q2),
additional supply chain costs, lower regulatory credit revenue, Bitcoin-related impairment of $23M and other
items.

In other words, all the **** I've been talking about for the last year. Vertical integration and world class talent go a long way. Can't wait to see that number once S and X refresh are fully ramped, supply shortages are sorted out, and 4680s reach volume production. Berlin and Austin will be Tesla's 3rd generation factory with even greater efficiencies. Wow! .......and...what happens if FSD hits?

Time to start your long position
