Should we be stocking up on toilet paper again?
Saltine crackers hasn’t been in my Shop Rite since last week. Very strange. They did restock with a few boxes one day and was able to get one . Bread will be a problem shortly with the wheat shortage.

When Ukraine invades their neighbors and terrorizes their majority, then they can make that comparison. I mean really. Iraq invaded Kuwait, used chemical weapons against the Kurds, and threatened Saudi Arabia with invasion. How is that at all comparable to the current situation. Serbia? We stepped in to prevent genocide against muslims. We had zero intention of occupying either country or region. Any Russian thinking that their invasion was somewhat justified is a product of propaganda.
I think Joy Bags was talking about the Russian population, which doesn't really know what's goin on in the world.

CNN had a Russian citizen who is currently in Ukraine, and he called his parents in Russia and the parents were arguing with the son, who again is currently in Ukraine, saying Russia is not bombing them.
I think he's referring to the 2nd Iraq war not the first.
Definitely a different situation then the first Iraq war, but still, Sadam was a dictator who committed genocide on his own people in an area of the world which we really hoped we could inject with democracy.

Maybe not solid grounds for invasion, but still much different than what Russia is doing in Ukraine.

I'm in retail and we are definitely still dealing with shortages. Our owner recently spoke to suppliers and they were hoping for 2nd half of the year, but we have been hearing "just over this next hill" for awhiles.

AMZN jumping 10% on stock split announcement.
KABOOM!!!! You know this was coming after GOOGL. Good move. AMZN is our 3rd biggest holding across our entire portfolio. MSFT #1 and GOOG/L #2.

Now is the time to buy both, AMZN and GOOGL. Lots of action will happen after the split. Nice to see a buyback plan as well.

10B stock buy back too.

Though it has pulled back to about 6%. I've been looking to add. Might do so here and then sell some of that off post split. The stock has been basin for 18 months now, it's due for a run, and the split may be what sets it off.

What's the timeline for the split?

Disclaimer: We've done a good job in this thread of talking Russia and the politics that goes along with it, without going internet moron. Let's keep that up.

Putin has to be a madman who doesn’t care for the Ukrainians, Russian soldiers or the Russian people. Both Ukrainians and Russians standard of living will be hurt for several years, maybe up to 5 years. I don’t think Russia plans to rebuild Ukraine infrastructures if they win. US will probably have to contribute to built back Ukraine. What is Putin really winning? He‘s not logical and should negotiate peace at this point.

I'm going with the theory that he thought he would walk in and the Ukrainians would lay down. When they didn't Putin was stuck, he could either pull back and look weak, which was not going to happen, or he could blow everything up.

But yeah Putin is a madman, that seems clear. I wonder about everyone around him, is there no one in his circle that see's this? No one willing to end this?

CRWD pops 13% on earnings beat.

Expensive stock, but the growth is there, the fundamental story is there, and as B-Ice Breaker just pointed out, they are now a profitable company.

WTI back under $110.

Short term?
Probably it will spike again due to fear and emotion. However, let's all be logical. Russian oil still exists and will be bought by China, India, and other friendly nations. Those nations will buy less from other nations, but that oil will find its way to Europe and other nations that refuse to buy from Russia. It's just a shell game.

No big deal. Sooner or later people will realize this.

Hitler had a few attempts on his life. I hope a few of putin's bros can pretend THEY are nazi's and slide a briefcase under a table. BUT this time have success with the blast.

At least in Hitlers case, for the large majority of his rule, Germany was rolling.

Russia, after a brief run, has gone from stagnant, to decline, to wtf. Who are his supporters at this point?

His "cough, cough, " are people who are afraid to speak up for a fear they might catch a bullet in the head, a knife across their throat or a tasty cocktail.

Remember when Google was up big on the split announcement and quickly came back to Earth. I think Amazon can be bought at these levels but there will be opportunities in coming weeks as the volatility continues.
The big moves will come after the split.

$10 billion will not have an impact; it will buy less than 1% of their shares. (The market cap is over $1.4 trillion)

I considered jumping in, but couldn’t do it since there is one stock in the ARKK fund that has yet to fully reprice.

I don't know where ARKK would be w/o Tesla. Down 75%?

But the ARKK investors continue to be resilient. Traded 20mm shares today.

Ever notice that BTC and ETH only seem to plummet in the middle of the night - like between the hours of 1:00AM-4:00AM EST? Is this action caused by overseas whales? Or perhaps timed intentionally so Main Street crypto can’t react and bring it down lower?

I bought some short term near the money puts on RIOT yesterday, looks like those are going to pay off.

Did the same with NCLH which was jumping as well yesterday, might have something there as well.

I am down over a percent early though, which was expected given yesterdays rally.

Looks like this most recent dip happened mostly before midnight yesterday, started around 8pm. And that's eastern time.

So in this case at least it was not an overnight phenomena. But 8pm et would have it at post extended trading(at least for my etrade) so could that play into it at all?
