"The early flash PMI data for April point to a marked slowing of business activity growth at the start of the second quarter, accompanied by a slump in optimism about the outlook," said Chris Williamson, chief business economist at S&P Global Market Intelligence. "At the same time, price pressures intensified, creating a headache for a central bank which is coming under increasing pressure to shore up a weakening economy just as inflation looks set to rise."

Be careful with PMI. It's just a survey and very impacted by sentiment.

As suspected, Bessent just needed to say something to calm the markets. Hard to invest in this market but volatility could be good for traders.

Jobless claims come in as expected. Still a super low #.
Economy still looking good. Just put in a few limit orders for GLD futures (let's see if they hit). Gold looks to have stabilized after the dip. Might be a good time to jump back in.

Durable goods orders come in way above expected. All of that is transportation(not even sure what that entails).

Is this pull fwd to get ahead of Tariffs?
Speaking of "transportation" are you still in on RIVN? I am seeing more and more in the greater Princeton area. I bet sales are really strong for the R2 models when they launch. I haven't traded RIVN well at all, but maybe it's time for a buy and hold and see what happens.

I am, still doing a little trading around a core position. A little overweight at the moment, need it to get back to $13 to trim back.

Just saw that RIVN has Dec 2027 options available with reasonable volume (crazy leap calls that go out about 1000 days). Instead of messing with shares again, I might just buy a few lottery tickets and see if RIVN finally blows up. There needs to be another EV winner and the product is pretty awesome. The R2s may be their Model 3.

$5 for an in the money contract. I can see the trade. If the stock gets hot and runs to $20 within the next year, you' probably 3x your money.

I'm still holding my RIVN lotto ticket. I've never sold any, and have bought about 15 different times. Lowest buy was at $8.50... highest buy was about $14. Average cost is about $10.75.
About half my shares are Long Term and half are still Short Term. I don't need the money right now so probably just going to let it ride and see what happens.

ZETA in the $12 range. Glad I sold this dog after the short-seller fiasco but wondering if I press my luck.

I think so. I’ve been reading about an upcoming crash in port activities. Will affect West Coast ports first. Will cause a big hit to long-haul trucking firms, rail, etc.

So sell this rip?

I have no idea what's going on. I'm a perma-long on the stock market. I haven't sold a single stock and continue DCA into QQQ for my wife's I401K. But I'm definitely worried about transportation and logistics. If the shipping numbers are correct, the ripple effects on the economy are going to hit a lot of sectors in the coming months. I've posted a number of bearish thoughts recently and I've stated earlier, I hope I'm wrong.

Santoli has 5500 as a level. We are currently right there. Maybe Google's numbers breaks us through that.

Then somewhere in the 5600's, 5625 maybe, as the next level to get through.
