Dickey Betts passed away this morning . It was way before most of yall's time but the original Allman Brothers Band was one hell of a rock band. RIP Dicky

He was my favorite member of the band, all due respect to the actual brothers and the nephew. It's amazing he lived til 80. If my wife's name was Jessica, she would have walked down the aisle to that song!

For all of us, there are certain songs that hit you the 1st time you hear them. Songs that just blow you away. Elizabeth Reed was one of those for me. Fall of '87, 18, buzzing off Budweiser and a friend plays it from the Fillmore East album....17! What a feeling that was. I'd love to find music that made me feel that way again.
