Danny has definitely gotten some good recruits out of New Jersey. I think SHU and the Big East made a bad decision letting them into their league. I think they will resent that over time. As for Sanogo over Omoruyi he is much stronger and bigger. I saw them go head to head last year. Sanogo outplayed Omoruyi when I saw them at Kean in the Union County Tournament. In the rematch in the state tournament Cliff got the best of Sanogo and the WIN. Sanogo does kind of resemble Cockburn but when I saw him he was not quite as big as Cockburn. I think Cliff can add on some more muscle and beef yet to make himself stronger and better.

It is not even halftime but so far U Conn looks horrible. They are being taken to the woodshed by Seton Hall. They are standing around the perimeter and are afraid to penetrate, turning the ball over and not guarding the three at all.

Switched over to the golf channel. Bored with this game.

We play in the B1G (which is the best conference in the country and it is not even close). So the biggest question to me is why TF is Seton Hall once again on national TV in a primo time slot while we are continuously relegated to FS1 on Tuesday's..... Really hurts recruiting at RU IMO.

U Conn looked much better in the last 3 minutes before the half. They showed a real pulse. They cut the 18 point lead down to 9.

Seton Hall looked good and deserved the win. They were I think 28-31 on foul shots. That is really good. Cale has really come on these last few games.

This has zero impact

Big East will get 5 and UConn will get credit for Bouknight injury. I think they end up as an 11 seed. I believe that USC was a Tier one win.Xavier should be the 5th.

UConn misses Bouknight, but that Sanogo kid is a very impressive big man for a frosh

It's too bad RU couldn't keep him home.

Huge road win for SHU today.

Hurley is gonna make them very tough soon too.

the big East is living off their name at this point. Two ranked teams? That is a joke. UConn might as well go back to the american.

He can recruit because of his name but am not seeing great coaching. Enough with the injury crap. Pike had Geo, Cliff and Harper out. Some of the hits that Young took... we have the far better coach.

Seton Hall was the one recruiting Adama, not Rutgers. Rutgers landed their big man target in the 2020 class.

The two ranked teams are not even very good. Nova really has not beaten anybody and Creighton neither. Creighton will probably get knocked out too because they lost to Georgetown this week

Big East is down this year as Big Ten was in 2016. The 2 were very equivalent in 2017,2018 and 2019. But Nova isn't very good? Not sure too many agree with that. They should be a 2 seed when all is said and done in March.

I agree, Nova is very good. Related, Georgetown fell off the cliff, do they recover in the future?

Nova just lost to St John’s #58 in Ken Pom.

Equivalent in 2018???....19???

Let's not rewrite history.....

As far as UConn....best thing for them to be in the Big East, they get to raid MSG for the Big East tournament down the road. But no one wants to say the leagues are near each other now....it's not close.

Losing by 11 to an ice-cold Providence tonight isn't inspiring much comfort in Storrs, East Hartford or anywhere in Connecticut.

Hurley scheduled a game at The Rock in Newark vs St Bonnies , this December

He’s focused on recruiting in NJ
He has a name and connections in NJ from his St Benedick's days. His father's St Anthony program .
As a Rutgers assistant along with playing for Seton Hall.
Danny's along with his father Bob and brother Bobby are considered NJ Basketball royalty and we should expect for him to hit the NJ recruiting grounds hard
But with only two NJ players on his roster, Hurley needs to find a way to entice Jersey talent to head his way better.
This might be a start of that.

Just off the top my head.. Hurley has - RJ Cole, Corey Floyd jr, Rashool Diggins + Adama Songo and Sam Johnson. That's 3 Jersey dudes, and 2 more who played in Jersey. He's already collecting NJ talent

An in-conference rival is going to play a game in SH's home arena. I'm surprised that UConn is being allowed to play at the Prudential Center. I would have assumed that SH, as a main tenant, would have a provision in its contract giving it the right of refusal over something like this.

It’s a UConn twinbill

Women’s vs UCLA
Men’s vs Saint Bonnies

Even worse from a SHU perspective. Will be interesting to see what type of crowd they draw. Upper deck worthy?

I think they will open the upper tier for the twinbill. UConn will attract its usual boatload of fans. St. Bonaventure, even with its tiny enrollment, and hence, small alumni base, will bring a good-sized crowd. I'd guess in the neighborhood of 2,500. Everyone who has ever attended St. Bonaventure seems to be a hoops fan. I attended several A-10 tourneys in Atlantic City over the years and I was always surprised by the large number of Bonnie fans who attended.

sounds like you're right ,.
The Patrick School is a good Jersey source for Hurley.
Checked the UConn roster and seen only 2 players listed from Jersey.
But didn't check out schools players went to, and that was my mistake.
Site I looked at had out of state players that played for Patrick School listed as from the state or country they are from and not the state they played their HS Basketball
