I have just recently bought a Glock 19 and have really gotten into going to the shooting range as a good stress reliever. I might be looking into getting another pistol in the near future. Anyone have much experience good or bad with other handguns?

the Python would be probably your best choice if you want a revolver ... if you want to hunt with it either the Smith # 629 or the Ruger Super Redhawk in .44 but just for playing - Brownings Buckmark is awesome .... btw, I have had all of these models and can vouch for all of them
ETA - if revolver, go with the FULL underlug in lieu of the half

p226 in 9mm. I got it off an FBI agent because they were moving to glocks. It is an awesome gun, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. It shoots like a cadillac drives and are very durable. The action and cleaning are very easy. You can take it apart in less than two mins and the barrel cleaning is very simple as the barrel comes out very neatly.

I want a glock .40 or .45 next.

Not a handgun but for fun shooting everyone I know loves either a tricked out AR-15, stainless HMR 17, or a 223. Those are all range, wild pigs, or varmit fun. If I wanted something else fun I would get an AR.

For hunting, I have a browning stainless .308. I have a remington .270 model 700 and they are right when they say it may be the most accurate action ever made. I love that browning with a leupold VX-3L 55mm. I splurged on that.

Depends on what you want it for

I know that sounds silly, but is it for your person, your car, your home (where in your home, etc.)? As for handguns, I have the following:

1. 1911 Springfield Micro Compact (.45 ACP) for personal carry
2. Berretta 9mm 92FS (M9) for bedroom
3. Taurus Judge with 410 shells downstairs in my Study
4. Para USA .45 Custom (Special Model for my military unit) - good piece but mostly commemorative
5. Springfield 1911 full sized "operator" with tac light and lazer (.45 ACP) - for fun

Do you like your judge? I've heard people that love it and hate it. I have 2 smith and wesson 686 .357's...4 inch and 6 inch. I also have a Ruger sr9c. I'd like to get a glock 22 at some point. AR's are a lot of fun.

love it. But to be honest, I've only shot .410 rds through it.

The grips feel a little small, but aren't bad after you get use to them.

Glock 19, M&P9, and HK P30 right now

I've owned several and this is what I have ended up with. They won't be going anywhere unless something unforeseen happens.

Springfield XD Subcompact .40 cal. I love it!

Also, if you get in to cc...check out the Crossbread Supertuck. Great IWB holster.

A S&W .357, a Glock 26 for back-up and concealed carry, and a Ruger .22 cal for fun and walking about. The Ruger is loaded with hollow point and solid as every other round.

Para Ops Model .45 (compact for the car) and a Springfield Government Model .45 (full size) for the side of the bed. Note to all: I have bought and shot (a lot) of .45s in my life, and half of them had problems out of the box. Most of the problems have been in crappy magazines. When I finally educated myself enough to zero in on magazines, and buy decent ones in place of the OEM, my problems were solved. A cheaper way is to buy new springs and followers from a reputable company like Checkmate, but I didn't learn to do this right off the bat.

Glock 32, Ruger P90DC and a LCP

The 32 is chambered in .357 Sig which is essentially .40 powder pushing 9mm lead. It's a snappy bastard.

Hmmm!

H&K USP Compact 9mm
Ruger SP101 357Mag
Taurus PT99 9mm.
Browning Buckmark 22

I recommend all of them.

Anyone have any experience with the Bersa 380 Thunder group?

JP Sauer & Sohn Model 1930. I can't be of much help with anything current, though.

Para Ordnance LDA 12.45 (double row, light double action)...

it's the sweetest trigger pull i've felt out of the box, holds 12 rounds, and has comparably low recoil for a Fo Fi...

it's the ****.

I have 2 handguns

I have a Walther PPQ 9mm at home. It has some quirks, but I kind of prefer it over Glocks/Sigs (not that they aren't fantastic or anything). I think most anyone would compare it favorably to them.

I keep a Taurus .38 snubbie in the truck. I figure that's the most likely place to have one stolen, and I wouldn't feel too bad about a $280 Brazilian-made pistol if I had to lose one.

Para Carry Nine, A 1911 with DA trigger, probably my favorite carry gun.
Kahr K9, a close second
Ruger SR 9, A glove box toss in gun.
Ruger LCP with crimson trace, In the pocket gun.
Safari Arms 1911 Matchmaster for shooting paper.
Les Baer Concept 7 1911, The most accurate pistol I have ever pulled the trigger on.
Alchemy Arms 1911, Kind of a 1911-Glock Hybrib .45 acp.
Ruger government model .22
Hammerli trailside .22
Smith and Wesson .22
Ruger 22/45 with threaded barrel

Notice no Glocks, I have owned a few but never fell in love with them. Small hands are part of the reason, but I always gravitate back to thr 1911 family of guns. A good 1911 trigger just makes any DA auto feel like a piece of crap which really has nothing to do with the quality of the gun but the design of the trigger.

ArmaLite AR24-15C Tactical, a CZ75 clone (although better). My .45 shooter buddies raz me about the caliber, but when you can squeeze off 19 rounds (using 18 rd CZ clips) without reloading, there's something to be said for that. High end self defense ammo such as Speer in personal protection, and when you go to the range, the Russian ammo from Walmart is $8 a 50rd box. Try shooting that cheap, .45ers. I shoot with Desoto County cops so I've had the opportunity to shoot lots of guns. My 'want list' is long, but this is all I own currently, and I love it. Heavy as a boat anchor (all forged) but super accurate and grip is nicest I've ever shot.

Mine is a Springfield Armory XD-9...

but I want to trade it in for a Glock .40.

In hindsight, I should have made more of an effort to try out a few guns before buying. It has a really tight slide spring and inconsistent handling, but otherwise it gets the job done.

Couple of Glock 19s in the vehicles

Couple of Browning Hi-Powers
Couple of 1911s
These are my favorite range guns. Fit my hands better than anything else.

Sig 229 with .357 Sig and 40 S&W barrels
Beretta 92C
Grips on these are rather thick for my hands. Don't shoot these as much

Walther PPK in .32 cal
Sig 230 in .380
Pocket pistols - the Walther is small enough to not show with most anything I wear.

S&W Model 10 - on loan to my mother

S&W Model 27 - in bedroom

S&W Model 642 - wife's purse gun when I can get her to carry it.

Beretta 96A1 .40 cal with 12 round magazine. Accurate. No malfunctions with a few hundred shots.

Walther P22 is my little plinker. Shoots pretty good. Have had a few failure to ejects.

I almost went with the Glock 23 .40 cal. Brother has one. Very nice, compact, easy to point. Might be my next gun after an AR.

Glock 23 (.40 cal "compact" - yea, right) and S&W Bodyguard .380. Love the Glock, but it's just too dang big for my 6'0" 160lb skinny butt to conceal. I look like I have a tumor.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Bodyguard for that reason. I can wear it with shorts and a t-shirt, and you'd never know it was there. And it shoots amazingly well for a mini hand cannon. I enjoy shooting it as much as the Glock. The built-in laser is a gimmicky useless piece of garbage, but the gun is damn fine.

The ones I had before that tragic boating accident:
Taurus PT1911 -- wanted a 1911 and was poor. It served its purpose nicely but I really want a Kimber, Les Baer....
FNP-9 -- wanted a DA 9mm that not everyone had. It's sweet, err was sweet.
