is gonna end up swimming with the fishes somewhere? It's wrong to hire a prostitute. Don't get me wrong about that. But to argue with one over a few bucks and bring attention to it is just stupid. I'm sure the other 10 SSA's and the military guys being brought in are ready to put a bullet in this guys head. That is 21 families and an entire agency that could be permanently damaged because of this one guys shear stupidity!

Can you imagine the conversation he would have had after the fact with these guys. It would be endless hours of fun for comedians.

The argument wasn't over him paying nothing or a small amout. It was over him trying to pay 30 bucks when they agreed (when he was drunk) 800.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/19/world/americas/colombian-escort-speaks-about-secret-service-scandal.html?pagewanted=2&_r=2&ref=global-home

I'm sure SS agents are paid well, but not well enough to where 800 bucks doesn't matter, especially if the guy happens to be married and the guy thought about having to explain why the checking account got a lot smaller after hubby's trip to Colombia. (No clue if the guy is married or now).

...do you people who consistently spell on the level of a 3rd grade retard really have degrees from MSU?

If you do, you have no idea what an embarrassment you are to the university.

And don't tell me "it's just a messageboard so who cares."

No, the truth is you never learned how to spell, yet you conned your way to a college degree despite being half a nitwit.

Both in terms of money and his life in general.

I haven't heard if he is married, but if he is (was), he had absolutely no business giving business to a prostitute - or any other woman.

I'm not trying to excuse his behavior, just coming up with reasons for the way he acted.

Prostitution is legal in that area of Columbia. They were off duty. They were there doing advance work ahead of a visit so guests in the hotel isn't a security concern.

They may have a problem with their spouses, but why are their jobs in jeopardy? If we don't like the laws of other countries then we shouldn't send people abroad and allow them to become subject to them.

After edit.. And for anybody appalled by this incident, you're a testament to the phrase "ignorance is bliss" because there are a shitload of federal agents right now whose buttholes are drawn tight.

is with a woman. I doubt secret service agents can get drunk in clubs and pick up women while securing an area for a presidential visit. They probably violated an internal policy.

I agree to some extent.. But that's one reason agents that do advance work aren't on security detail during a visit.

Just found 3 spelling errors in 3 of your 4 previous posts.

http://sixpackspeak.yuku....--baseball-#reply-614143

Those teams were worse than Croom's worse football teams.

You meant to use "worst".

http://sixpackspeak.yuku....eball-team-#reply-614135

But at the plate & in the field they all seem too bored to hustle & act like theyre entitled to victory because they look pretty in their uniforms.

Theyre? The yuku spell check caught that and you still didn't correct it.

http://sixpackspeak.yuku....-bad-we-are#reply-614128

What gets me is MSU fans who post here went throught the "wait until next year" ******** with their grandfathers, then their fathers. Yet as history bears witness, if you are a MSU fan, next year never arrives.

Again. Yuku sticks a red line under it and you don't correct it.

Should I keep digging? Feel free to check my spelling history. My posts likely have many of them. Why? It's a message board (2 words, not 1).

While soliciting prostitution is in most cases legal for adults in
Colombia, it is considered a breach of the Secret Service's conduct
code, government sources said. Military law also bars service members
from patronizing prostitutes, engaging in conduct unbecoming an officer
or, for enlisted personnel, conduct "prejudicial to good order and
discipline."

in their rooms. The potential was there for them to be compromised or for the President's routes and plans to be compromised by them passing out or spilling the info to a hooker.

I know it goes on all the time but there is no 2nd and 3rd chances in the secret service. I will be shocked if every single one that was involved is not forced to resign or fired.

They don't do it and it sends a message to anyone looking to do harm to the President that there may be a way in.

From the details I read, it just sounds like those guys went entirely too far over the top. They should have known better, so I don't have much sympathy for them.

I spent all of 2011 in the Far East where plenty of that was available, but honestly none of the 15+ male officers I was deployed with ever engaged in it. Its just too much of a risk. Times have changed from just20 years ago. I heard stories from the senior officers about hot tubs & stripper poles being installed in the wardroom in the 1980's. In the internet age, where anything can become world news instantly, its just a bad idea.

Federal agents, especially secret service, are held to higher standards in their off duty conduct,, and they all know that when they accept the job.

I'm not naive enough to think that no one in battalion hired a prostitute there, but if they did, it was kept quiet, wasn't made known to leadership, and wasn't over the top. </p>

Is that all the guys on that advance detail chose to be there. They weren't deployed as a unit. They accepted that assignment and put their treasury cases on hold for a few days. So when travel pops up to a destination like Cartegena, buddies from different offices across the nation will take it because they like working together. ...Obviously "working well together" has some unintended consequences when the same group of guys always volunteer to travel together.

I won't be surprised if this leads to a more random selection process when it comes to security details not for principals with full time protection.

USSS Agents have a journeyman level of GL 12. Since these were Obama's men, I am going to make the assumption that they were minimum GL 12 Step 1 and based in Washington DC. That means their base salary is $75k. They also get AUO which is uncontrollable overtime which adds 25% of their base salary. Add to this shift differential (Nights/Weekends) and the Per Diem they were getting and you have a special agent who is making well over $100k per year. Sadly enough $800 was not the issue, it was a hard head dumb *** who got his team in trouble. For the life of me I can not figure out how these guys were passing poly's and background re-certifications if they were doing this stuff.
