Arkansas laid down almost all year. No fight whatsoever.
Auburn and Tennessee are just bad teams (1 SEC win between them).
I get it. We had 8 wins. If that sells to top recruits, then great. But I'm already looking to next year. We've basically been spinning our wheels for two seasons now. If we'd fought hard in any of our four losses, I'd understand us taking a step back next year with all the seniors we lost. Now, if we go 6-6 or 5-7 in 2013, what's hidden behind those eight 2012 wins will come bubbling to surface. There's very little evidence we are getting better.
There's a chance we have a staff that doesn't know how to utilize an NFL type QB. There's no doubt we've got a staff that has consistently regressed on defense. These issues aren't going away.
Maybe all these guys we've been redshirting will help. I sure hope so. But this staff lost a lot of momentum (and slack criticism-wise) by finishing the season so poorly (1-4 with the only win over a team that had quit months ago).
LSU disagrees. Had they won our game and beaten LSU (which they were much closer to doing), they would have been bowling. Our game was not meaningless to them. But tell yourself whatever you would like. Not-saying they are world-beaters, just saying they didn't hand us the game like you're implying.
