Our fanbase continues to use NIL as an excuse for bad coaching

No argument there. But how much are we all allocating to buying talent? That's the million dollar question. Do they spend more? Do they spend more effectively? I have no clue.
A lot of those schools Alumni doesn’t give 2 sh@ts about college athletics

I've seen it all MSU boards. Anytime we have a position group that sucks, we get blown out, or any other reason, the line that's parroted by MSU sunshine pumpers is we just need more NIL. No, how about we have coaches that can coach the players up and identify talent. I mean Indiana, the most losing program in the history of the NCAA is beating the crap out of people and it's not like they are swimming in NIL. Our fans need to stop blaming NIL for everything and start holding coaches accountable. How David turner still has a job on this staff is beyond my comprehension. Our DL has been so bad the past two years yet we don't hear any fans complaining about him. Phil loadholt should be gone as well. The OL is our worst position group and none of the young guys are getting better. Rant off
It takes both good, if not great, coaching AND $$$ these days. No use saying that we can compete with the big programs by only addressing one or the other.

Regarding talent. I'll use OM. I really think the difference in them and us, is one billionaire tort lawyer. Also Walker jones And all the lawyers running their NIL.

We need a billionaire to fund and more than one lawyer managing and running our NIL too.
This is why I keep buying lottery tickets

Regarding coaching talent, do you see any difference in them and us there, and I'm talking top to bottom, not just the HC?

Indiana is #12 in NIL Collectives. We’re not even in the top 25

Depends on how confident you are Taylor can get the job done. I’d rather spend NIL money on starters on OL & DL than a backup QB. Also will need to replace at least 1 receiver & add a couple of LB and DB. I don’t think we can afford to tie up much money in players who won’t start.
Don't disagree we need OL some kind of bad. I'd be willing to throw in a few gift cards to the China buffet for a solid line

Do we even have any billionaires?

George Bishop gives a lot money to academics. I have no idea about athletics. And I'm not judging anyone who does or doesn't give to nil.

But my point is, you need someone that rich who is INTO IT to fund the amount money these players command and get from other schools. State doesn't have that type money.

You just linked something that A. Is from last December, B.. That is pure speculation and conjecture
No collective is going to report what they have good or bad.
We are a hell of a lot better with what we have now than what we had in December of 23 and a whole lot better than what we had last cycle.

agree, and using Indiana as an example, they have Eli Lilly corporate sponsorship and a lot of wealthy alumni, corporate support in Indianapolis and Chicago.

It's both. We have several holes to plug before we win multiple SEC games.

This thread is hilarious! Before the season everyone on here were saying if Lebby goes 5-7 with our schedule he deserved consideration for the SEC coach of the year. Now that we have a shot at a bowl game you folks are ready to fire him? BTW, if you didn't recognize the talent disparity Saturday then you don't understand football. Yes, we went for it on 4th down when we shouldn't have but Lebby knew winning was a long shot and why not show your support for the offense?

Yes we went for it on 4th down and got the matchup we wanted. If the RB catches the ball, we get a 1st down. Not sure how that is the coaches fault. I guest they're saying Lebby should have known that he was going drop the ball and should have had someone else in there.

I wouldn't say bad coaching, more like some bad decisions and about half of those decisions the plays were there but our players didn't convert.

That doesn't speak well of Heavy Lebby.

Your are an idiot. Explain how that reflects on Lebby. Between him Selman and Charlie they have totally changed and improved our NIl game no thanks to you or others in this board. So explain to me how that reflects on Lebby dumba$$
