Our program is right back where it was after Croom was fired.

Really? This sucks but lard *** didn't go to 3 straight bowls. We aren't where I want to be by a long shot but we winning and bowling and that's all we said Mullen had to do when we hired him.

Please never post again. Going 8-5 is amazing compared to the disasters Sly pulled off. Losing in a bowl game >>>> losing to Maine, Tulane, and UAB.

With 12 games, we should get six every year to make a bowl. Mullen can be a good coach, but he keeps trying cute plays in critical situations. Sometimes advancing the football might be better than using imagination.

Croom fired and we go 5-7 in 2009 and compete with superior LSU and Houston, arguably should have won both. Compete with #1 Florida. Beat Ole Miss. This is where we are when Crxxm was fired. Not talking about the specific day after the 2008 Egg Bowl but where we were as a program in 2009.

Now we get BLASTED by superior talent with no apparent clue as to how to function on offense and defense. Talent wise it appears 2009>2012. The only difference is the teams we beat this year did not have a pulse at all.

So yeah we are just about back to where we were when Croom left and Mullen first got here. Our scheduling guarantees a bowl every year no questions asked, that is until next season.

Ok St, LSU, Bama, Tex A&M, and USCw ALL guaranteed L's next year. We never win at Arky. We never beat Malzahn and on the road will be especially tough. And the Bears smell blood in the water and obviously have the talent to stick it to Dan.

4-8 is very possible next year playing like we did this year. 5-7 may actually be expected.
So how in the 17 can you say we aren't back to square 1 where Crxxm left us because to me when looking at Mullen Day 1 and Mullen present time there has been NO improvement. Sure there WAS improvement in years past but we've 17ed that away. Comparing our situation on Mullen Hiring Day and Now, no difference whatsoever.

Oklahoma State a guaranteed loss? Are you high?

They are a mid-level Big 12 team that's comparable in talent. Obviously they'll beat us if TR plays like he did today, but if he has an average day for him, we'll shred their defense. If the DL can improve, we'll shut them down enough to win. I don't know what it is about Oklahoma State that turns this whole board into pussies. I honestly think some people are confusing them with Oklahoma, at least the ones who've posted that OSU is a "PERENNIAL TOP TEN TEAM" and similar posts.

I want to agree with you, but I can't. Nothing I saw from us today makes me think we can compete with them...and everything I saw from them today makes me think they can beat our ***. They will take those wide open 10 yard passes all day long and put up 50+ on a young inexperienced secondary if we don't fix some **** in the off season. We don't cover well, don't get pressure, and don't tackle well on defense. We don't call plays well, abandon the run, and are too stubborn on O. If something doesn't change we will win 4-5 games max next year. We look slow on D, and that was against a Big 10 team. Offensively we just do not look crisp in our play calls OR our execution. Plays take too long to develop, and most are horrible calls to begin with.
As bad as I hate it for Tyler...our best chance of winning next year is to go back to the Relf style offense with Dak. We don't have an identity on either side, and we look unprepared and uninspired.

They took OU to OT this year. We lose both CBs and a safety on team that had trouble with spread teams. OK State's passing spread makes Troy look like Madison Central. They've been at it for years and took it to a Fiesta Bowl. Sure they give up points in some games, but look what we did on Texas A&M and Ole Miss whose defenses were torched this year (La Tech and Texas come to mind)

Looking at Oklahoma State's schedule this year I see 2 for sure wins for us. TWO!! We had 7 gimmes. If we played OK States schedule this season we would not have made a bowl game. That is a fact. Our schedule was that ******. This was a very poorly coached team with serious flaws that became exposed every time we played a team with a 17ing pulse. Oklahoma State is a guaranteed, no questions asked, *** whooping next year. If we played them today I have no doubt it would have been similar to their game vs Purdue

Ther is no difference between his hiring day and today other than three consecutive winning seasons, three decent bowl appearances, three wins over in state rival, consistent sellout home crowds, stadium expansion and a recruiting class ranked in top 20. Quit trying to say we are in the same position as crooms left us. It's stupid.

According to the Sagarin predictor, we (39) would have beaten Savannah State (240), Arizona (45), ULL (66), Kansas (88), Iowa State (40), and West Virginia (47). And this is with the bizarre overrating of every Big 12 team, since they played a full round-robin (unless you believe the Big 12 is actually better than the SEC).

Obviously, this is all academic and nothing is guaranteed, but your idea that we would have gone 2-10 on their schedule is obviously absurd. Maybe we wouldn't have made a bowl, or maybe we would have won all 6 of those and also beat Texas and TCU to go 8-4.

And of course they blew out Purdue. Northwestern >>>> Purdue (should go without saying, but apparently it doesn't)

If we continue to follow Mullen`s lead and quit when we get behind in every game we`re not highly favored OSU will be one of about 7 guaranteed loses.

I'll take my eyes over Sagarin..
Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Texas, Arizona, Baylor - Losses
TCU, Iowa State, WV, ULL - Split
Kansas, Savannah - Wins

4-8

My bad these were two great games against superior top 10 teams where we had excellent game plans, preparation and effort but just came up a little short. I can see why you`re so proud.

This. We were the kid on the playground picking on the nerds until the real bullies came around and knocked us the 17 out.. All year long. But we continued to talk **** and finally the nerd had enough and socked us in the eye 41-24 sending us crying like the little bitches we really were.

No you 17ing idiot READ MORE. We're in the same on the field situation as the day Dan was hired. Snapshot of our team then and now is equal. No one is comparing this season to 2008. When Dan arrived we were a 5-7 team against a tough schedule. Next year is a tough schedule and many think we will be 5-7 again. That's the comparison. We improved and then regressed back to Dans starting point. Not. That. Hard.
