Recently:

1. The Wire
2. Dexter
3. Sons of Anarchy

My favorite individual season of all-time is Prison Break Season 1. Incredible.

Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office would make my comedy top three.

without Frank Burns and calling Hot Lips Margertet not so hot. Suposedly Alan Alda got behind the camera and 'softened' the show making it closer to a Lifetime movie

They may be the single funniest 8 episode season of any show I have ever seen and its been renewed for a full season this year.

Fringe right now is good, but some of the earlier episodes didn't really tie into the pattern events at all, so it was a little annoying. Otherwise, great show. Flashforward is really good, but it may get canceled for next season which would suck. V has gotten better since the first 3 episodes. Seemed a little cheezey to start out with.

The big bang theory is always good, and I think Community may be taking The Office's spot as best NBC commedy.

Lost is the best ever.

House, Big Bang Theory, Fringe are all tied for 2nd place. During the early 80's, Greatest American Hero was solid, at least from what I can remember

I've made a huge mistake.

Lucille: I’ll have the Ike and Tina tuna.
Waitress at Klimpy's: Plate or platter?
Lucille: I don’t understand the question, and I won’t respond to it.

i mean, i'd say AD is better (the buster & lucille & lucille action is worth the price of admission), but surely someone out there is willing to put 30 rock over it! i do every now and then myself, the absurdity of Lemon's world is perfectly captured and less frustrating at points then AD

It shouldn't be up for much discussion unless you are talking to someone that hasn't seen the show.

Plenty of good shows that could be second:

Lost
Sopranos
West Wing
Cheers
Seinfeld
Always Sunny
South Park
Madmen
A-team (No better show for someone who is 8 years old)

By the way, the person that said Wings above, go ahead and kill yourself.

I was told this show was awesome so I bought the first 4 seasons when I broke my knee two years ago since I was going to be laid up for several months. After 4 episodes, I just could not get interested and I still haven't even opened seasons 2-4. I know it takes some shows several episodes to get going, but I literally could not keep interested since it was so boring. Maybe I'll give it another shot, but how long before it actually gets going good?

That is by far the funniest and best season of MASH's run. Trapper leaving after that season was bad too...much better than BJ.

And as mentioned earlier: Night Court (and Markie Post's boobs), The A-Team, 30 Rock, Married With Children (about 3/4ths of it). Honorable mention: Quantum Leap .

I remember when TBS used to run repeats of it all the time. 2nd place: Roots. 3rd place. Winds of War. Honorable Mention: Shogun.
