You think UC-Berkeley wants any part of competing with the SEC, or even simply with USC on the NIL front? Additionally there is a need to incentivize businesses from setting up shop in certain places, as well as incentivize them to hire people in that place. An example being $15 minimum wage has wrecked a lot of businesses and has low income job providers moving as fast as they can towards automation, on top of it being a driver towards inflation. So yes, the idea is good to make the fat cats at McDonalds “pay their fair share”, if it comes at the expense of jobs for the first time job seekers, or those with special needs or inability to handle “skilled labor” that now have nowhere to work, then it becomes a net negative on society.</p></blockquote><p></p>
