So can anybody tell me if Tejada really injected Raffy with steroids as payback just because Palmeiro was doing whatever with his wife?? Evidently the two were taking B12 shots all year, but Tejada made the switch to steroids without telling Palmeiro so he would get caught. Can I get some clarification on this from somebody "in the know"?

I have been interviewed, and with near certainty I can tell you that Palmeiro stuck the roided up syringes in his own ***, and he did so with full knowledge of what was in them.

why the 17 would you have some other dude shoot you up? Maybe I'm missing something but I'm pretty sure I could put a needle in my *** by myself.

He fooled a great organization like the MLB saying he was a bit younger than he actually was....this is believable.

Hall..........It's like Tim Kurkjian from ESPN said last week, the era was so dirty that everybody was doing it.......Vote those in who had the numbers to substantiate it and mark their records as having played in the "performance enhancement era"........

a test.........If that's the case then Bonds, Clemens, and McGwire would be in.........We know they cheated but they never tested positive........That's why I say vote them in put the ole *asterik* by their names.......

You obviously can't make players from that era ineligible (except that you could make any players who were actually caught ineligible). The voters will have to decide on a case by case basis. I'm sure players with suspicions hanging over their heads will lose votes. And players who were caught like Palmeiro will have virtually no chance whether they're technically eligible or not.

And I understand these are great numbers and these numbers were put up during an era where everybody was taking steroids from the MLB ranks down to your local JUCO to your favorite local Division 1 squads. My point is that these guys cheated at their profession and they shouldn't be awarded for the over-achievement. Look at the number of CEO's of major corporations who cheated at their profession to reap the benefits of economical gains....they were punished and sent to "major corporation bannation". I will be very surprised if the 3 guys you mentioned ever see the front door to Cooperstown.

Why? What they did was not against MLB. (at that time) What they did was against "THE" law. Do you not let anybody in the Hall of Fame that broke the law? Where do you draw the line at what laws you can and can not break to get in the Hall of Fame?

Tell me one player in baseball that hasn't taken "beans" before every game. They all do something to have an edge on the other team and they all know the other team is doing the same thing.

kind of stuff but they don't get discredited from getting into to the Hall.....Isn't corking a bat or spitting on a ball a means to enhancing your performance? Gaylord Perry did it and he's in the hall. Sammy Sosa was caught with a corked bat but had the steroid issue never surface no one would be giving a damn about the corked bat and he would be in the HoF on the first ballot........How many times had he done this prior to getting caught?

Fay Vincent sent a memo to the teams in 1991 reminding them that steroids were banned.

Edit to say: The memo said illegal substances. Steroids without a legit prescription were illegal, thus steroids were banned.

One for the regular coffee, and one with a green top that didn't mean decaf, but had "greenies" added to it back in the good old days.

the shot clock was introduced in basketball because teams were taking advantage of the rules, which did not require them to shoot the ball.

i understand that steroids and baseball are different. if the league bans "performance-enhancing" drugs, then the new designer steroid is also illegal, even though it is not specifically listed as illegal. sesh seems to know the rules from the times, and i don't disagree. advancing technology (and chemistry) can sometimes make it difficult for the rules to keep up.

ETA - i'm not sure how the stop sign reference works. and i wasn't really answering your question of how something can be against the law but within the MLB rules. that, to me, sounds like the situation where slavery was legal in MS (until recently), but it has been a federal crime since the emancipation proclamation. it really didn't matter whether it was legal in MS.

taking steroids without a prescription is something that you are never supposed to do--that would include before, during and after baseball games. We'll just have to agree to disagree.
