Whomever their new coach will be is definitely in the catbird seat when it comes to negotiating the terms of his contract.
They could do a lot worse than Brian Kelly as HC, Mark Stoops as DC and Tim Beck as OC.

Penn St students and boosters would burn down the stadium if they hired Rhule.
Looking at Daboll’s history, he has to be a legit contender at this point. Has Bama assistant to Saban on his resume.

I do think so. I understand he didn’t win too many big games, but that is hard to do. And to have no options lined up. And the fact that other colleges were lining up to sign him after he was fired.

Nebraska also made a really dumb decision.
Any incoming coach may find the talented kids will be lining up for the portal.
That has to be a helluva drawback for any coach.
Assume out of spite, any really talented returning player from PSU could get a juicy NIL deal from Franklin to help his Va Tech team and further damage PSU as punishment.
He would already know what type of NIL deal that player already has, so Franklin has a huge advantage.
This was such a botched process for PSU.

Yes he did. A BIGTIME Booster from Lincoln who was a buddy of Pederson’s told me BEFORE Frank was fired that Frank was getting canned and Wannie had agreed to come to NU. Then Wannie got an unexpected extension offer immediately after we fired Frank and the deal fell through.
So the last 22 years is really Wannies fault
It’s still open Rhule. It’s ok to have a change of heart. Go help your buddy.
Timing is everything in life. Who knows how much different it would have been but I guarantee Wannie would have won more games his first year than BC. He still would have had an uphill battle with the tradition coalition though. I think the ending would have been similar.
Remember when Tennessee flirted with Schiano and A&M with Stoops, and fans/flipped out, essentially veto'ing the process?
