Last week during the Scuffle I asked if PSU's backups are more fun to watch. This is exactly why I asked, the starters are so ridiculously good that everybody just backs up and tries not to get bonused.

Can't be too upset about Lilledahl getting a regular decision, as the other kid was on skates. They need to get used to it though, as opponents will try to keep things close, looking to score at the end. He needs to find ways to score against guys wrestling him like that.

Davis' progression through the years is astounding! Thank goodness for that fluke since cael can't coach.

Scooter looks good at 141.
Davis with 3 TDs in the 1st period -- don't think I was expecting that.
I know Parkins isn't an AA type of guy but Davis' aggressiveness is really nice to see. In past years he'd wrestle everybody pretty close.
Guess who else has a sweet slide by? Kasak. Blaze will see it every day in practice.

Braeden looks really good. It might have been helped by the fact that Parkins is a tall and skinny 141, but, Davis looks plenty big and strong for the weight, and he looked pretty quick too. His pace slowed down a bit towards the end of the 2nd, and he got a tad sloppy giving up a TD, but, got one of his own when he needed it. I like his chances to get on the podium, and he's capable and dangerous against anyone.
Parkins has some talent. He was 2X State Champion in AAA in PA in high school (Nazareth). He was undefeated his senior year, and also had a 4th place finish as a soph. He's a true freshman in college (which makes one appreciate even more how well Blaze and Duke have wrestled this season).
Great tempo by Davis. Nice to see the aggressiveness.
He's wrestling like he has something to prove to himself and that can go a long way.

Van Ness had the pin in the first, but, the ref was changing positions when the pin happened. Magro is as lanky as it gets at 149.
He didn't miss that one! Van Ness is nasty!!!!
SVN just needs to get those 9-point first period leads then it won't matter that he can't get out from bottom.

SVN worries me a bit on bottom. Someone like Joy could give him major problems. I think he dominates from neutral but on bottom he hasn’t been great this season. Any cause for concern?
So happy for young man. Had to pleasure to meet him at a couple of practices and we talked a bit.
Been through a lot but he is learning how to overcome adversity.
No zain will ride him all next week til he figures it out or jow lee.
I would love to have to search for concerns. Instead I have to watch a 2 time finalist struggle to score points and start the year 4-4.
