Unless you are one of the guys who cheered for Cal last year at Rupp. Then, you should cheer for Perry while he hits a three against the Cats.If he goes to a rival he will be hated and should be booed.

They are now pro players so who cares.Booing a 20 year old strnbger that dribbles a ball. lmao.
He's going to play less if he goes to UL because they have better guards. You didn't read the other guy's post you originally pooh-poohed and it led to you saying all kinds of irrelevant things trying to maintain your position. Peace.I believe I’m going to play more somewhere else because I’m an athlete and competitive.
Or
Pope hates me because I’m a Cal player.

One thing you were apparently missing is the other 2 threads on this topic. What am I missing? I don’t want him to leave but Ark, UL, Ole Miss?
You don't even know where he's going to play and you already hate him.No offense but someone who is able to justify the concept of being both a Kentucky fan and a Hog fan really doesn’t have a reliable hand in discussing how rivalries are seen by sports fans.
He was willing to work so hard to force Calipari to play him….Perry should never, ever be "booed" no matter where he goes. He was the only recruit we had at one point and hung in there while we put a team together.
Most of our fan base did that same thing to Cal and the returnees.Booing a 20 year old stranger that dribbles a ball. lmao.
No I don’t. You must not be familiar with me. I’m one of the most pro-Perry posters on this site lol. I’m just honest —- if he goes to a rival school, we are not going to hold his hand and thank him immensely for being born here. You don't even know where he's going to play and you already hate him.
None of the schools listed will he get playing time except Western KY. That would be a good and justified move for him.
What are you even going on about? What is the point you want to make? That we shouldn't talk about or discuss other players once they decide to leave UK? Then stop spending time on a basketball forum is that's how you feel.So why waste your time or mental energy on it?
I never got this thinking especially in today’s landscape. You don’t want to be here? Good luck to you sir and if we play you I hope you’re on the wrong end of it.
Not saying you do personally but a lot of folks treat these things like an affront to God.

I said if a Ky boy goes to a rival he would be booed and hated for it. Not that he would care, even though I think he would.
I agree. Pope has always spoken very well about him. The truth is Pope is doing his job and getting the best guys here. Perry isn't one of the best guys right now. Maybe in a year he would be but not with our current group.Seems unlikely.
Have you heard our coach speak about him or anyone else?
They are all super fantastic.
Just seems unlikely.
That is all.
You keep saying this in every thread about Perry, but I think you’re vastly overstating the case. Sure, if he did something to become an absolute legend, then some of the endorsement deals might be a little better in a basketball crazy state like Kentucky. So what are the pro's of getting to play "more" somewhere else? I think if we know the answer to this then it would help us in understanding the decision.
Is he seeking more playing time for more exposure to showcase his skills in hopes of a professional career as a basketball player? If so, then it makes sense. Will that be in the NBA, I highly highly doubt it. But I suppose it's not unreasonable to think he might carve out a career over seas. If so, what are his potential earnings from playing overseas? Is it more than he could make in business in a state like kentucky with a resume that includes playing for uk and scoring more points than anyone ever in high school?
If the pro's of getting to play "more" somewhere else are simply because he really likes playing basketball and he's competitive, with no real illusions that he'll be a pro, then I must say, as I have said in other threads, that it's a huge mistake when you consider the implications that playing basketball at UK have on future career opportunities.
IF professional basketball is not an option, then riding the bench at UK is far far far more lucrative, in terms of his future prospects, than scoring 1k points at South Carolina.
How anyone can just ignore this because "the kid just wants to compete!!" is asinine.
I get what you’re saying and I’m on board with it 100%……except Oats was in town (granted we don’t know why) and this article I linked was a Louisville News not his agent or anyone else linked to UK.Do you really believe his agent?
It's like your looking at a car on a used lot and the salesman says he got others looking at it also but if you make a deposit he will hold it for you.
Western KY for the win. Gets to stay in KY and should get playing time.
Nah those were filled with smart asses like you. Was hoping to have a good conversation. Do you sleep ok knowing there’s more than 1 post on something? Do you pay rent to read said threads. Who gives a **** really. Not my fault your little ocd issue bothers you.One thing you were apparently missing is the other 2 threads on this topic.

I have a very hard time buying it that being a 4 year victory cigar means he’s set for life just because it’s Kentucky and is far preferable to having an actual playing career somewhere else though. The kind of networking that would allow him to move into some kind of sales job or high school coaching after he graduates absolutely exists at other schools too.
Most of our fan base did that same thing to Cal and the returnees.
Yeah, that worked just great vs Ark.If he goes to a rival he will be hated and should be booed.
Beard and Ole Miss were in on him first. They recruited him harder than any other school. He was and is still wanted there. Eddyville is closer or as close to Oxford as it is to Lexington so it is near home. He let his heart take over despite knowing that he was not wanted by the previous coaching staff at UK. He let his heart overrule the people that truly wanted him. I have been following UK basketball since 1962. I am 71 years old. I have never seen a kid be so criticized, and I would be willing to be bet that 95% of all the criticism is coming on this blog site is coming from "UK fans" that have been fans only during the previous coaches tenure. I can never remember under any of the previous coaches that there was such disdain for Kentucky high school players as the previous staff had for them. There have been All American and other great Kentuckians that played for UK. There have been even more that were solid contributors to those that played very little and never do I remember fans attacking the later group of players. These are probably the same experts/know it alls that said Travis needed to go to Mountains of Lyon County. I hope he goes to Oxford and absolutely torches UK.I saw where Beard was making an in home visit with him today. It sounds like Ole Miss is very interested.
He still has that resume. He doesn’t stop being the KHSAA all time leading scorer and a former UK player because he entered the portal. Is it more than he could make in business in a state like kentucky with a resume that includes playing for uk and scoring more points than anyone ever in high school?

It's a game, fans should be passionate. They aren't punching him in the face. This idea that Booing is a terrible thing you can do in sports is so weird. And that makes it right? lol. Whatever, but we all know it's pretty sad behavior for an adult to boo a kid they don't even know over a dang game. lmfao
Which part? The part about being contacted or the part about Perry being interested?Thought this was fake news?
Perry should never, ever be "booed" no matter where he goes. He was the only recruit we had at one point and hung in there while we put a team together.
I boo every Louisville Cardinal, Tennessee Volunteer, North Carolina Tarheel, Duke Blue Devil, Kansas Jayhawk, Indiana Hoosier, Uconn Husky or Arkansas Razorback no matter who is on the team and that includes blood relatives.
I’ve never once cheered a rival player because of where he was born.
He still has that resume. He doesn’t stop being the KHSAA all time leading scorer and a former UK player because he entered the portal.
It ain’t like the state is gonna shun him now. He’ll still be hugely popular and have plenty of future opportunities here if he wants them.
He was the 1st player of the Pope era. He's not just some rival. Nice try, though.
Happy booing. Players that actually played sports at a high level use it as motivation, so the joke's on the boo bird. Enjoy !!
He might get backup minutes at Ole Miss, but can’t see him getting more than 10/game. If that is the case, he better be getting really good money or this really doesn’t make sense.Or….
He wants to play and just not ride the bench and collect a check.
Some said he would have gotten around $200,000 next year at UK.Or….
He wants to play and just not ride the bench and collect a check.

Why is it comical to discuss Perry? He's a kid we've followed for a few years. Plus, it's April 25th and it's portal season. Our fans care about Final Fours and discussing a guy like Perry. It's part of what makes this place Kentucky. This board and it's obsession with someone of the comparable importance of a practice squad nfl qb is comical.
As I said the other day, we will have more threads about this than OO if he unexpectedly stays n the NBA draft.
But it's about final fours and titles here lol.
