We got us a 9-0 vs a 8-1. Has anyone seen either of these two teams? Contenders or Pretenders?

What jumped out to me is that they've both played Starmount. PLP shut the Rams down while CS of D lost to the Rams in a high-scoring affair.

The fact that no one is talking about this game, I think proves that both are pretenders.

While I've not seen neither in person this year I've seen them both play before quite a bit. We played CSD in non conference in 2017/18 and we scrimmaged PL Prep before.

PL Prep's WAY better fundamentally than CSD is. CSD loves to be flashy as possible and it's one reason why that Starmount game was so wacky scoring. Starmount struggles vs the pass (Trinty of all teams gashed them bad in August at the scrimmage we attended,) and CSD ate them up on it. But when push comes to shove they HATE to be hit. It's how we dominated them in both of our games and it's why Starmount beat them both years. When a team comes to run it down their throats they never adjust to it or get into stopping it. PL Prep meanwhile is the opposite; they love to be physical and love to be hit.

If PL Prep comes ready to go on defense I don't think this one will be close. If CSD gets their rhythm going it could be a high scoring affair. I got PL Prep; I just think they are having a special year and will at least close this game out.

Next week hard to say. It depends on who they draw. CSD will probably be out early.

PLP only beat Bessemer City by 21, and Thomas Jefferson by 21, and Starmount by 19 and one of them is going to be a really high seed tomorrow when the brackets are released. They deserve to be in, but not in that high of a seed in my opinion.

CSD has the leading QB in 2a with over 2800 yards passing.
They also have 2 receivers in the top 5 2a in receiving.

I’ve never seen them play but it’s sounds like they would be fun to watch.

CSD had some really good skill guys when we played them last season. I think most of them are back.

Pine Lake Prep QB is really good. He impressed me when he played at Starmount. PLP has a good defense and as you said above CSD loves to air it out. Should be an interesting matchup for sure.

CSD had a terrible game defensively against Starmount but since then has been extremely stout and physical. CSD starting offense hasn’t played in the 2nd half of any game this year except 2 games. So, take that for what it’s worth. Their offense will score 40+ points but can PLP score that much? CSD best a 7-1 Christ the king team 49-7 last week while PLP beat them by a touchdown or so the week prior. I think CSD is a much better team, with the ability to score anytime. I got CSD to win, (as does Simmons) but while Simmons has CSD by 7 I have CSD by 21+.
