SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – After drawing Creighton over the weekend, the Seton Hall men's soccer team remained at No. 21 the United Soccer Coaches Poll released on Tuesday afternoon. This is the Pirates' second consecutive week and third week overall in the rankings this season, all of which have been at No. 21.

The Pirates are one of three BIG EAST teams in the current top-25, joining No. 11 Georgetown and No. 19 Akron. Two other opponents The Hall has faced this year, Princeton and Saint Louis, are ranked at No. 3 and No. 24, respectively.

In the team's final BIG EAST road trip of the season, Mikkel Lejbowicz put the Pirates up 1-0 early with a circus goal against the Creighton Blue Jays in Omaha, Neb. That was Lejbowicz's fifth goal in four games, tied for the most in the BIG EAST during that span of time. The lead would not last for long however, as the Blue Jays would score before the game's end and the match would end in a 1-1 draw.

In head coach Andreas Lindberg's tenure, Seton Hall appeared in the United Soccer Coaches top-25 at least once in five of his eight seasons and 22 weeks overall. The Pirates were ranked seven times last season, peaking at No. 8, the highest they had been since reaching No. 6 in their seven-week run during the truncated 2020 season.

No. 21 Seton Hall will look to close out their season with a win and secure a BIG EAST Tournament spot on Friday, Nov. 7 when the Pirates play host to the UConn Huskies at 7 p.m. The game is free to attend and will be broadcast on ESPN+.

A bit tough having the Men's Basketball and the Soccer Match at about the same time? That's an important contest vs UConn. I guess there will be a lot of students at the Basketball game. They need to win this match. The 3 points will have them in The BigEast Tournament. At that point they will be in the conversation for a bid although winning 1 Tournament game may be needed. They better bring their A game vs UConn.

Don‘t be sure about students choosing the second basketball game after attending soccer games throughout the fall, especially if the weather is decent.
