It's time to drink mash and talk trash.
Tuscola coming in hot, feeling good about themselves.
What y'all think?

Can’t speak about the game to much. We lost to both by 4. I would say this is Tuscola’s best chance in several years. The usual cliches apply turnovers, special teams, field position will be critical. Should be a great game & worth the price of admission!

Pretty good defenses on both teams. Seems injuries might make an impact. Listening to the radio games PHS has quite a few of them. Prediction? None.

Tuscola's opponents combined records are 19-27.
Pisgah's opponents combined records are 23-23.
Tuscola's only quality win is against Franklin. A game that boggles the mind. I mean how do you win with only 4 first downs?

The best rivalry game in the state.....I think Pisgah is probably a little better, though Tuscola may have closed the gap some this year.

23-23 isn't exactly playing cream of the crop every week. Tuscola won by playing well on defense and special teams, which they will need badly on Friday as well, especially with a still struggling offense. If the offense plays like they did in the first half against East this past Friday they will likely not have a chance. If Tuscola doesn't get pass happy and throw interceptions they have a chance to be in it at the end, but if coach goes haywire and has the QB throwing beyond 10 yds that will likely lead to turnovers and a loss. They have to keep things simple and lean on their defense and special teams.

I would love to see another shalacking of the Mount-me's by 28 or better! That Mill Town Beat Down that stings like hell for yet another 12 months!! However, this is not my actual expectation of this game coming up Friday. As previously mentioned per other posters....I believe this will be the Mount'Me's best and last opportunity for years to come to get a win in the Southeastern United States top rivalry. With good weather and any luck at all....don't be surprised if there's 15,000 folks that show up to witness this pageantry friends! Mount-Me's are certainly coming into this game guns a blazin'. My bears are coming in off one of our worst overall performances this season. That could have a lot to do with so many key injuries and these players who have been injured on Varsity were key elements all season long. Unfortunately the JV has suffered a couple injuries to a sophomore or two as of recent that would have definitely been able to help Friday night. I look for this County Clash to come down to the wire and I think we will need help on the PHS side from some previously number 2's and even some JVs to win this one. God Bless Haywood County and especially my Baaaaarrs!!!

I think we had three objectives going into the WH game:

- Pound the ball, control time of possession, and limit mistakes.

- Keep the WH offense and QB in check.

- Get some reps for players that are now playing different positions.

I’m sure there were others, but we accomplished all of those. I’m also glad we have another week to prepare for THS. THS may have improved, but I think we still win because we have the better coaching staff and more talent.

Could also have been because west is just better than their record too, which I have been saying on here for weeks. West is much better than their 1-6 record, but when you have to play 2 legitimate state title contenders in OOC (chase and hendersonville) and your opponents combined record is 30-16, and you have the youngest starting 22 in every game you've played, it was always going to be a tough start.

Let there be no doubt either I am no west homer I didn't even move to henderson county until a few years ago but when I watched them in the offseason 7v7 when they played reynolds, chase and crest, I knew they had talent. Then I heard that every Friday night Jon Crompton has been spotted in the box in west attire. Rumor is he is the playcaller for their spread after working with the West QB all offseason, and although I wasn't there for the Pisgah game I heard the spread did pretty well had West receivers actually caught balls that hit him in the hands. The West QB has only played in 3 games this season after injuring his arm in a scrimmage. I see West being a tough out for everyone left on the schedule, especially if they stay healthy and I also see them being a player for a conference championship next season.

You may beat Owen, but you won’t beat Franklin. As for next year, Pisgah will be even better than this year. You did see the result of the JV game last week?

There is no "we" as I am not west folk. As for beating anyone else this year, I never said as much, I said they'll be a tough out and they will if they stay healthy like they have been. And the JV I am not concerned with, as west is likely to return everyone who was on the field on friday night, not thursday. West will be good next year if they can return that entire team that has played the last 3 weeks.

Tuscola’s defense has been playing much better and from what I hear Pisgah’s is as well. Offensively we have struggled. I would just like to see us make adjustments on both sides when needed. That being said with Pisgah’s injuries, home field and a possible edge in special teams, I will take THS in a very close one.

This thread is way to quiet for a Thursday before the game. I guess everyone is afraid of eating a little crow. Lol.
Pisgah JVs should get us started off on the right foot this evening. I'm guessing this one will be over at halftime.
As far as Varsity goes who knows. The game seems to never play out like it should, other than Pisgah getting the W.

It was 16-0 with 30 seconds to go when I left, I assume that's how it ended. Tuscola played well, but just couldn't get anything going offensively. They had an opportunity to at least tie it up in the third but the penalties and mistakes on one drive in Pisgah territory done them in. I was expecting Pisgah to handle them easily, especially considering that Tuscola has pulled up several players from the JV this season, it was good to see some fight in that team.

Shoot me an e-mail and I'll give you a number to get up with me tomorrow. I'll be leaving home around 6am and should be in Canton / Waynesville area by 1pm. I plan on being at the stadium by 3:30.

Tuscola scored a td with 3.7 seconds left in the game on a long pass. Missed the 2 point conversion. Final 16-6. Pisgah’s JV QB injured his throwing hand yesterday in practice, and couldn’t throw very well. If he was healthy, I don’t think it would have been that close.

Well it wasn't the blowout I was expecting but a solid W. Mounties D was on the field most of the time, eventually that'll get most teams beat. Pisgah was pretty vanilla on O but that was do to some injuries. Just glad there wasn't any more injuries tonight. 16-6 final.
Friday is a new day, with the same result.

Hopefully it’s an OLD fashioned slobber knocker and not like it was last year. Forecast looks good. Hopefully Weatherby is PACKED AND ROCKING.
I know Canton will bring a huge crowd as always.
And Otis… just let her drop you off at the stadium and she can head up to Main Street. Parade should be rolling thru around 5!

Gates open at 4:30. Will save you a lot of time to buy a ticket in advance. Hometown Hardware in both Canton and Waynesville or Bob's Sports Store across from Walmart in Waynesville are selling tickets. There will be a separate gate/entrance for those who already have a ticket.

I'm sitting with BigBear10. If you are here let me know and I'll walk over and say hi. I'm a fan of both teams tonight. This is a thrill for me. I should add I got my pockets filled with 50-50 tickets!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I got 300

Hopefully the atmosphere is normal at this game. Four years ago it was standing room only

If you do Facebook look for Greg Morris Vanceboro. I've put several pictures there so far. The visitor's sideline is filling up. Tuscola fans have way more room so no rush for them to get a seat now. The stands are old concrete. It reminds me of Rockingham Speedway.
