A little over 20k, winner won 11k and some change.
Good game, blocked field goals were the difference. Tuscola couldn't do anything in the second half and the injury to our #5 was a big deal. Pisgah was smart with their kickoff and punts, Tuscola wasn't able to get a good return all night. Our DB got caught badly on that HB pass, he was looking in the backfield from the start of that play, that's where we missed #5 the most and was playing a freshman on your best player #25, almost all night including that play.
The home side wasn’t completely full, but the atmosphere was way better than the last time we were at CE Weatherby
That's what I heard tonight, I wasn't aware of that. He must have only been at THS for his freshman year, I assume.
The atmosphere was much better, but that was a thin crowd IMO, if Tuscola doesn't get a win soon in this rivalry, when does it become just another game.
Terrible play calling in the last 5 minutes by the ole ball coach and a questionable call with a minute left doomed the Mounties to defeat ! Will be hard for Mounties to bounce back easy to see them lose their remaining games. Congrats to the bears they didn’t qive up .
Very impressed with Mr 29% on the mountme side of things during the first half. Bears came out flat in every aspect of this game. I honestly didn't see any passion from the boys the entire game. We eked out this win by tremendous help from #17 and although he got beat a couple times by JB on the long ball....I was impressed with the next man up mentality that #13 brought with him tonight. Let's not forget that the kid blocked two kicks that would have turned the game into a Mountme win had he not been so dang quick and mentally present despite having to jump in the game after HA went down. That was a rough loss for the Bears for sure! Tuscola was definitely the more fired up and ready to play group from jumpstreet but I'm proud of our Bears no matter what! I agree with some of you fellas tho, that the rivalry is back for sure! This close game was needed in a big way. At the end of the day, BC took the boys into the locker room and did what he does best! Make necessary adjustments to put #25 on #2 for the remainder and the halfback pass by BR was perfect and they sold it like they had to in order to pull it off! That was definitely the turn of the tides IMHO. I'm overly impressed that BC and the crew was able to pull out this win with all the pregame injuries as well as the ones during this game! Next level Coaching by our main man for sure!! I hope all the kids on both sides recover from whatever injuries transpired tonight and before this game of course as well! The Clash is back boys! Otis....you need to come back next year with it being held on the banks of the Pigeon where it seems to be far superior when played in Canton. Half and half was $40k or better one year with a $20k or so take home a few years back...Did anyone catch the Player of the Game by chance? GO BAAAAAAARS!!!
25 was POG for the Great America Rivalry. WPTL radio POGs were 21 & 13.
What's the deal with a Tuscola chain crew member getting thrown out.Never saw that before at a high school game. Representing the home team well.

I seen that call in college against NC States running back before. He lowered his head and went head to head. Same thing last night. The Tuscola kid lowered his head and hit the Pisgah player in the side of his head. It was in front of us. I agree it was a tough call for Tuscola but the official was on top of it.
I may have that on video. I did Facebook live of the teams entrance and the 1st qtr. We were wondering was it some type of media timeout at the time. I heard a Pisgah assistant say the chain crew guy said something to the player for Pisgah and he may have put his hand on him. Not sure though. I've worked the down marker for a few years at our school and you have to keep your mouth shut. I've never seen one removed from a game before until last night. Be interesting to watch my video today to see if I got anything.
I had a great time last night. Tuscola has a beautiful field and the view of the mountains in the background is awesome. I thought at halftime I would be watching Tuscola break the 8 game losing streak and would have a front row seat to see how Pisgah handled defeat. Down 20-7 it was looking bleak. Tuscola pretty much dominated on defense that first half. Then Pisgah scored to get it a one score game and I got to experience the electric atmosphere of this rivalry. With Tuscola down 20-21 and attempting a 49 yard field goal with less than 30 seconds to go I was kinda hoping to see the kicker get it off. Could he make one from 49?? It was going to be a great ending for someone either way. Pisgah got the block and here we are. If you have never seen this rivalry before you should plan to do so. It's worth it! I drove 6-1/2 hours to see this. Stood in the line to get in for an hour and then sat in the stands for 3 hours for kickoff. This is what the hard core Pisgah fans do at Tuscola to get a good seat for the game. It was an interesting take on a great rivalry. It has to be the best in this State!

Regardless I have never seen it called much less at the end of the game when a kid is trying his hardest to get xtra yards . He wasn’t a running back he was the slot receiver . I have already gave pisgah their kudos just tough to have as great a game as it was come down to … in my opinion a terrible call.
He cursed at our some of our players and ball boy. Also hit one of our players in the back of the head with one of the chain gang poles. Several people on the sideline heard the cursing, as did the Referee. Good thing he was escorted off the field, cause he was about to get tossed by one of our coaches. Never saw that coach so mad before.

Agree. Even chapel didn’t like it as he was screaming at the guy when he thought it was onthem. His words were “ You dont make a call like that at this point in the game”
Last two times the game was full capacity at PHS, the 50/50 was over $40k, and the winning fans took home home over $20K.
Over fifty years in tradition with three or four streaks during that time, and a conference title on the line now, it will never be "just another game". No doubt the Mounties tailends are sore from the butt-kickings, but statistically speaking, the tide will change one day, just ask Nick Sabin.. Just not this year, lol.
It's like P.T Barnum once said, "It's the greatest show on earth". Glad you could make it Otis, you certainly don't want to miss next years in Canton. I usually hang out with Big Bear but this year has been tough. Maybe I will get to see ya next year.
That would have been a terrible call at any point in the game but it was devastating when you're in FG range. I feel bad for the kid. Hes fighting hard to make some extra yards for his kicker only to get flagged for something like that. That call marred what was otherwise an excellent game. I'm already looking forward to next years match up in Canton.
Should be another good matchup next year. Looks like both teams have talented players coming back, plus the additions coming up from the JV teams. Who will be the QB for Tuscola next year?

Please do come back and watch next year when it's at our house! Love all the out of town TRUE FOOTBALL FANS like yourself who would travel such a great distance to watch this go down....but I'm tickled it was worth it friend!
