That's pretty much sheep slavery. Why can people own animals but not people? Why can people kill animals without any harsh penalty but not people? That is so prejudiced. 100yrs+ ago the feeling was probably the same careless regard for human slavery.
Speaking of killing animals, I tried to kill a bug tonight. This is a long story; you might not want to read it.
Anyway, normally I don't kill bugs. But this bug was competing with me for food. I mean, I'm mostly a nice guy, and I like to share. But I admit I can sometimes turn a little mean when something gets between me and my food.
I was in my kitchen reaching for tomato in a bowl on my kitchen counter and this bug scurried out across the counter towards me, stopped, looked up and gave me the evil eye. Well, evil
eyes, actually.
Now, I'm not real happy to be seeing a bug in my kitchen. So I grabbed a paper towel and tried to trap the bug so I can pick it up and crush it without getting bug goo all over my granite counter top. But it kept escaping, the quick little fvcker. It would scurry away, turn around, scurry back and position itself between me and the tomato and give me the evil eyes again.
I'm not gonna lie. I was more than a little creeped out by this behavior. This was a first for me. A bug with absolutely no fear of humans. I didn't know if I should crush it with a magazine or give it a name and keep it for a pet.
In the end, after a little bit more back and forth with this ballsy bug, it became pretty clear to me that the bug wanted the tomato way more than I did. I mean, this bug was totally willing to die for the tomato. I didn't even know bugs liked tomatoes.
So I ordered takeout instead.
