then what seems like the fourth week in a row, the other team completes a pass and our defender just falls and they take it to house

Yeah.... Watauga is a well coached machine up there
I'm at the Piedmont slaughter by South Iredell but it sounds like a little of both. I think Weddington figured 0-3 team they'll win easily and Butler wants to pull the big upset of the year. Wish I'd gone to that game. I'm 5 minutes from Piedmont though.

We couldn’t stop that option offense, plus we fumbled 2 pooch kickoffs,
and dropped more passes than we caught. Just a bad bad game for us. Credit to Watauga tho they are a machine! Who knows what we do now, last year we were 1-3 in non conference play and turned it around in conference. Personally I think our non conference schedule just wears us out. We had to play Guest on defense because of injuries.
Your schedule is super tough no doubt. That being said, Roberson only lost 14-0 to Watauga. I know we shouldn't compare scores but I never expected Watauga to beat y'all like that. I really expected Reynolds to be improved from last season with the transfer QB and Guest back but that doesn't seem to be the case.
I really think the top 3 teams will play some dogfights this year but it could always be Reynolds coming out on top.
Erwin has the offense to win it but can they play enough D. Beating West Henderson and Brevard is impressive. Not to mention having Mountain Heritage on the ropes in a game they could have easily won.
Roberson is solid but not spectacular. Their win over East Rutherford looks pretty good right now. East Rutherford is much improved and dangerous.
Asheville is a bit of an enigma. Destroying Tuscola was pretty encouraging. Tuscola isnt great but not bad either. They also played tough against a pretty good Lake Norman team. I don't know if they have enough up front to hang with the other top teams.
