the 10-15 band kids that walk in to other sections needs to stop... They're not synced with the band located in the student section and they sound awful... The quality is crap and when two different songs are being played it just screams minor league... Let's focus on a strong marching band that can perform a half time show before we try and be the best band in the nation

I think this was started in response to complaints that people can't hear the band. So now the band comes to you! Can you hear them now?

How many band members does that leave in the student section ? 5-10??

They looked very small Saturday night.

It would be one thing if they didn't start playing 10-15 seconds after the rest of the band... Very Rutgers and very disorganized

I think it's a great idea. they have come up to sections 206-208 for the past 3 games and everyone around us has enjoyed it. Actually I asked the Band Spy (the guy who comes up to 207 to video the halftime show) to have them come up at the Kansas game because we enjoyed it so much the first time.

I see they have junior Rutgers dance teams......why not junior band members or at least drummers?

Umm most college bands do this. People Can find anything to whine about.

We should make a thread with most ridiculous posts.
OP post would make it.

Another thing I hate is when Rutgers scores, and people stand up and cheer.
It hurts my ears, and blocks my view.

I also hate it when Rutgers makes a first down instead of a touchdown.
Touch downs are worth 6 points, but a first down is worth 0 points!
Why do we waste everyone's time with first downs?

Used to do this in the late 90s when the stadium was empty. Probably should be distinct from when the main portion of the band is playing instead of playing at the same time, but Tim Smith can't even figure out to stop playing when we're trying to snap the ball at times (and it's amazing how quiet the band becomes when they cut his microphones).

I appreciate the criticism... And I will openly admit I am in Vegas for work and this was after several to many drinks... I was a bit harsh on the band... Im a fan of the band, and make a point to stay for the half time show. a more accurate title/comment would have been that I wish they would sync up with the band in the student section instead of playing different tunes and at different times... Apologies if I offended anyone

Right...because the sound of kids in a marching band at a football game is so much worse than listening to 150 decibels of crappy rap and hip hop music ripping through your eardrums during the entire game.
I totally agree. Can we stop with the hip hop? I always feel like I am at an Eagles game instead of a college football game. We talk about this at every game. Do other schools do this? Just wondering.

The only thing I agree with in the original post
is that they should pay attention to the main band still in the student section.
At one point the main band was playing one song while the small contingent was
in the north entranceway and playing something else

A small group came up to 207 in both the last two games.
I thought it was cool.

One question. If you are in Vegas, we're you at the game?

I thought the deal was that they send a piece of the band into the stands on the side that was facing away form the main halftime performance in that given week.
