Anyone who thinks that these people will revert to normalcy and decency once Trump is gone are not understanding.

These people are now defaulting to their most basic communist programming. And even if they would never have the courage to try to kill you, they’ll gladly vote for someone else who will.

Understand. There’s no coming back for them.

UK football is in the top 20 for NIL. The problem isn’t money, it’s that top portal offensive players don’t want to play for Stoops.
The last 3 years despite the obvious need for a starting QB we’ve ended up with washed up players that have been passed over.
The money is there, and winning would increase it. Stoops era was over the moment he decided to eff around with Texas A and M. Barnhart didn’t even attempt to counter offer, the Aggies backed off, and are now in the top 5, we lost the bowl game, and Coen left.
Could payoff Stoops with hoops NIL money in less than two years.

They are a very liberal organization. I used to get mail from them all the time wanting me to join. I guess they finally decided I wasn't going to join as they eventually gave up. I am not giving them a dime of my money.
(y) They started sending me crap 30+ years ago & gave up after about ten years. But I'll bet there are Club MAGA members.

Put me in the camp of wanting a new direction with the coaching staff, and wanting to keep and stick with Boley unless someone comes along that can actually beat him out. Regardless of who the coach is, we have to start developing QBs and maintaining some consistency at the position instead of trying to replace it with a new portal player every year.

For being a dang Freshman QB in the SEC, Boley is showing potential and growth even given his surrounding circumstances. How good could he be in year 2, 3, and 4? I don’t know… but I’d like to find out.

Friend lives in Texas and is a Spurs fan. He said the new, woke mayor is deceiving voters and trying to get them to vote against a new arena that could very well trigger the Spurs moving. Vegas Spurs?
I think Austin with state legislature support could happen. Otherwise, Nashville & Tampa could be candidates.

The Basketball roster proves we could step up and pay if we really wanted to. I'm honestly of the mindset, that so much of the revenue and NIL was shifted to basketball as a backhanded way to push Stoops out the door, and to get championship #9 sooner rather than later.
I don't think Stoops had anything to do with it. Hoops spending of football generated money is just what UK does. There's a reason the spending isn't public.

I think what Bill was saying is UK is top 20 in NIL resources, not top 20 in roster talent. He suggests the top talent won’t come play for Stoops even though they could get paid handsomely at UK. So theoretically, a simple upgrade on coaching could make a world of difference in overhauling the talent on the roster.

I suppose that may be true, though I tend to think if UK REALLY wants to step up to contender status, it will take replacing Stoops with the right coach AND being top 5 or higher in NIL roster spending. Basically make it very hard for the absolute best players to turn us down, and have the means to go poach particular impact players in the transfer portal whenever necessary.

Even if we are top 20 in football, its all about the money. Billy napier got recruits at Florida and he was basically fired two years ago.

UK football is dead last in revenue sharing. Bottom tier in nil. Unless Mitch changes that, changing coaches wont help.

I am spot on. Boley's stats are misleading.....he had the Couch-like side to side game but nothing much else. He's a deer in headlights and panics with pressure and was fortunate on his scramble that the field was wide open. Boley will never be a top 5 SEC QB, and in a few years will be watching Manning get drafted. If you are counting on Boley to lead this team to wins, you will be sorely disappointed.
Couch was a #1 pick. I'll take that though I doubt it will happen for him here.

That's not easy to find & seems to be hit/miss luck to me. But you can't hit/miss when you refuse to shoot.

Nothing says you have to shoot. The ad can give uk football the same support as other programs and we can go back to winning.

Instead we'll pay 30 mil, hire someone that is a shot in the dark and expect them to compete against the toughest schedule while fighting with both hands behind his back.

Lets assume you are correct we're top 20. I doubt that highly based on our roster. Other than RB and maybe TE, we don't have a single player who would start for another SEC team. We had to move a CB to ILB for goodness sakes.

But let's assume.

Know who would be ahead of us? Everyone in the sec except vandy. So that means we're bottom two in money, which means we're bottom two in talent - so we will be bottom two in results.

UK football is absolutely dead last in revenue share which makes it hard enough just bey messaging alone. Then add the nil issue too and we just don't have the guys. Without the guys, you have to play the perfect game to win. That's not realistic.

I had my mind blown. The cofounder and first CEO of Netflix, Mark Bernays Randolph, is the newphew of Edward Bernays.

“One of Randolph's paternal great-grand uncles was psychoanalysis pioneer Sigmund Freud. Another paternal great-uncle of Randolph was Edward Bernays , an Austrian-American pioneer in the field of public relations and propaganda.”

One big club and we are not in it. The peasants and subjects of constant propaganda and mind control.

There’s a hot take. 250+ passing yards against one of the top defenses in the SEC all while a deer in the headlights. Whoa! If this kid gets to average and poised, we may win the SEC!

Manning, as in Peyton, played 11 games his first year at QB and averaged 119 yards per game passing over his first five starts at Tennessee. Eli averaged 280 per game as a RS sophomore.

Arch has averaged 232 per game starting this season.

CB has averaged 213 in his first 4 starts this year (3 SEC opponents with 2 ranked top 25).

Let’s pump the brakes on predictions at this point. Even the experts often don’t project well.

Easy to generalize on representative governments w/o going into specifics as to how long a county has had such/tried to have such a government & the difficulties experienced, both internal & external, with it. But you're the expert in generalizations.

I agree. UK will have to pay top tier money to have a top tier roster.

I don't see that happening. We're committed to hoops over football and Stoops is too toxic to the fans and recruits imo.

All is true whether we pay $30M or $5M.

U see this:

"The Southeastern Conference Is Eating Itself Alive

The SEC has long trumpeted its slate of conference games as the toughest gauntlet in college football. But this season, the sport’s deepest and most demanding league has turned into a complete bloodbath."

"Entering last week’s games, 10 of the top 25 teams in the nation were in the SEC. That means 62.5% of the league’s 16 teams were considered to be among the nation’s best. The Big Ten, in contrast, had five teams in the top 25, or 28% of that league’s teams. Next season will be even tougher in the SEC. Each team in the league now plays eight conference games. In 2026, that will increase.

“We had the brilliant idea to add another one next year,” Kiffin said, “so there’ll be nine of them.”"

Good for us. We didn't just become independent 23 years before another country invaded to conquer us and didn't have to transition from a state-run economy. Keep trying to make it sound so simple. It fits.

As much as i love uk football and basketball, other than occasional comment im going to make a personal effort to avoid so much commentary about either in this thread.

As to aws, its always interesting to watch the general public be flabbergasted to know how much impact aws has on day to day life. Way more than the average non essential government worker.

And re: your Boley take, I think it's fair to point out that very recently you were trying to convince everyone on here how great Arch Manning is. LOL So don't take offense if I don't take your QB evaluations seriously.
This. Boley outplayed the anointed one head to head with four fewer career starts. Texas is a traditional National power and was one of the favorites to win it all going into the season, largely due to having the anointed one. They are an SEC team that Boley competed well against. Yet he’s “Not SEC Caliber”?
Boley and Manning are almost carbon copies of each other down to their height and weights, Boley has an inch and two lbs. on Manning. I need for @cole@854 to tell us exactly what makes Arch Manning the better of the two and the only one of the two capable of becoming great. Why does Boley have a mid-major ceiling and Manning an NFL ceiling in his eyes. What evaluations has he done to reach this conclusion? Because I know what my eyes saw Saturday.
