Humans are designed to be omnivores, with a significant portion of their intake coming from meat. Anthropology has shown, w/o a doubt, that once humans developed agriculture they started to significantly lose muscle mass and bone density. Not to say that we were better off as hunter gatherers, but to dispel the notion that has gained popularity (starting in the 60's) that humans are not meant/designed to eat meat.

Upon reflection, the answer to this occurred to me. By the time the actual details of this became known I believe the statute of limitations had expired. They BARELY got the current charges, lying to Congress, in under the deadline. Wasn't this considered a Hail Mary from the start though? From a legal standpoint?

Uh, just no on the Kenny Payne. KP was a lost ball in high weeds from day one. Pope got us to the Sweet 16 last year and beat some damn good teams along the way, all with a roster built from scratch at the last minute and having to deal with crucial injuries for most of the season. So he has far and away more coaching ability than Kenny Payne. I think this is actually a case of going overboard and spending too much trying to build the deepest roster in history to counter the injury issues he faced in year one. Now he has a locker room issue, with too many alpha dogs who want to be the guy, and there's infighting. So what's really going to test his meddle is if he can get those guys on the same page.
