Despite it being a hive of liberalism, NYC was still a place I enjoyed visiting from time to time. However in recent years, I’ve generally lost interest. I can say if they take this hard turn toward electing a terrorist sympathizer and socialist, I will never step foot in the city again.

My reasons FOR wearing gear are totally football-related, as well.
I'm a Bears and Cubs fan from the time I could watch a TV. My family was such that you never backed down as a fan no matter how bad your team played. We took our lumps and were never a poor sport about it.
Just how we were raised I guess. Maybe the difference is that I CHOSE to be a UK football fan, and football is and always will be my favorite sport. I saw the potential for what you got to see in 2018 and 2021. I'm also more of an encouraging sort, rather than a shout down, scream obscenities, and degrade people over mistakes sort of person (unless they are officials that are supposed to be neutral).
I respect the renewed hope for spring. I'm always looking to see improvement and signs of growth.

It shouldn't be surprising. That's how they were winning them before the SEC took over. They spent a lot of money on players for decades, just like other conferences, but the longer growing and playing seasons in the south won out over time.
I think the playoff system hurt the SEC, and the SEC hurt themselves and made it worse dropping the East and West, and adding the 9th conference game. The B1G is better positioned because they are not as strong top to bottom, and no one in that conference is overly worried about style of play or cheating as long as they win.
The NCAA just wants more revenue, so they don't care either, as evidenced by the slap on the wrist Michigan received. Money was always going to be the downfall of sports. Football, unfortunately, is definitely not immune
Cubs and Bears. Cubs lost a lot of support when the White Sox decided to care about winning.
Bears lost a lot, but not nearly enough, when the family decided to gut the SB winning team for cash. They only want to compete enough to sell jerseys and fill the seats.
That city needed a 2nd NFL team 30+ years ago. The admin there helped shut Walter Payton out of new franchise ownership, too. I'm a Bears fan, but I'm also realistic about their potential under the current ownership. I've got my Bears gear that I take good care of, because I won't buy another licensed thing until they stop ******* around.
They were a basketball school that like UK measured their football program by whether they were better or more entertaining at football than other basketball schools. Their state's best football players more often went to other schools. ND, Purdue, etc. Not much mystery there

To be fair, I hated Rodgers for most of his tenure in Green Bay, and Favre before him. A douche and a dunce.
That was an entertaining game, and even as a Steelers fan, a great big "I TOLD YOU" MFers that Flacco was what they needed and a good fit. Tried to get a Bengals fan to go somewhere to watch this game with me, but he was too scared they would lose to the Steelers again.

Rodgers was never good enough to hate, like Starr, Montana and Staubach. Yeah, he was always a douche. Still can't get used to him as a Steelers QB. Would rather have Flacco, but he's got a better set of Offensive weapons with the Bengals. I think that's why Tomlin was so pissed they got him.
Favre I always had respect for because he was raw, physical talent. Like Tarkington, Stabler, and in some ways Bradshaw. There are others of course.
