He's young enough to hopefully realize what a dumb, bigoted thing he did. Antisemitism is for losers although it seems to be increasing right now. Here's the reality: "anti-semitic views remain far more common among minorities than Whites, especially among young people...Black and Hispanic Americans agree with anti-semitic statements at similar levels as White alt-right identifiers"

You know, you've made several of these posts now insinuating that this is some kind of conspiracy. So I'm just curious how this one works.

Who put the MSU student from Madison up to yelling what he did and throwing quarters at Portnoy? Did these people pay him?

Does he out his co-conspirators if the university gets involved, under threat of suspension or expulsion? Does he out them to avoid these charges, or if he is charged with something more serious?

Or does he take his silence to his grave?

Who's his conspirator here?
That's what I'm trying to figure out. I've known several tinfoil-hat types. Their explanations for various conspiracies/plots are always so much more complicated and outlandish than the simple explanations they sneer at. I don't get the appeal of trying to figure out how every bad event was somehow planned/staged.

I am pointing out that its really great to see how SPS is basically lockstep in vocally rejecting racism and religious intolerance.
...or are you two not in support of vocally rejecting racism and religious intolerance, and are on board with rejecting those things for this specific instance only?
I don't blanket support anything b/c i'm not a moron.

Don't you throw out the term nuance a lot?

STFU and go away.

Just spit balling here. What would it cost if it was planned.

I agree that there is an anti Jewish sentiment growing at many universities due to the non-stop Palestinian online propaganda for the last 3 years. And the Trump assumption that he's, and I quote, "the best friend of Israel ever in the White House".

I don't believe this incident fell into the lap with perfect timing. That's just a bit too fortunate.

In before the lock. 🔒
See this is why i call you *** gots out. Yall say a bunch of crap so you can then come back and be right in any scenario.

Supporting some racism may be OK then. Gotcha.
Supporting some religious intolerance may be OK then. Gotcha.
Nuance = whether you like the person, their race, or their religion. Gotcha.
Just b/c you call something racism doesn't mean its racism.

I still go by that traditional merriam webster version of racism.
1a: a belief that race is a fundamental determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

What isn't racism (unless you are sub 100 IQ) is "building a wall". The same wall obama built and Joe biden built and hilary supported.

Being a conspiracy theorist is an easy way to tell people you've never been in charge of any large project.

If building a wall isnt racist, then it wouldnt apply to my earlier comment - I am pointing out that its really great to see how SPS is basically lockstep in vocally rejecting racism and religious intolerance.

Generalizing or mistreating someone for their race is wrong.
Generalizing or mistreating someone for their religion is wrong.

That is exactly what happened to Portnoy- generalizing and mistreatment due to his race and/or religion.

So, again, who is the other conspirator? And what incentive does the young man have to keep his mouth shut now that he's in hot water?

As I look up to my tv while viewing this thread it’s the south park episode where they all think Kyle is running Hollywood. Then decide to “let the Jew run it” when all he’s trying to do is to make common sense or reason with all these other folks. Ultimately of course they decide he should run it lol.

The simplest explanation is going to be correct at least 99% of the time, no matter what you are talking about.

For the record, this is pure speculation, I am in no way saying this occured in this situation.

Viral organic social media controvery is the cheapest media spend of all and the most effective to get a brand name out there. Worth millions, costs very little. What is it worth to have a brand seen (good, bad or otherwise) by millions? I can tell you want it costs to pay for that outright with paid advertising and it is not cheap.
  1. What did the band Cold Play gain from the Kiss Cam clip?
  2. What did ABC gain from the Kimmel/Trump feud?
  3. What did Sydney Sweeney gain from the American Eagle ad controversy?
  4. What did the undisputed heavyweight King of Controversy, Trump, gain from dozens of controversies in 2025?

This makes me think of the old adage, "When you answer my question with a question, you're avoiding my question." And somebody else already mentioned Occam's razor - the simplest explanation is usually the correct one.

But this kind of logic, or a lack of it, is what always gets me about conspiracy folks - at some point it usually devolves into some form of "Why does anything happen?" and/or "You can't prove that it didn't happen in the bizarre way I'm suggesting, which, by the way, I never said I was completely sure about."

He posted an entire rant at the end complimenting the people of Starkville who bent over backwards to make sure he was welcome. I'd say this entire event ended up being a net positive for Starkville after seeing that. Thanks Prez

As for the kid, good luck with your life after this. TMZ and every major news outlet have now picked up the story and he "withdrew" from MSU. Good riddence moron.

I have a former good buddy who went down the rabbit hole of the alt-right. Adult white male whose life hasn't turned out the way he wanted it to. Haven't spoken to him in a decade. Among the things he complained about was being blamed, as a white male, for problems he had nothing to do with. Still, he made some bad choices in life. This dude may be a Fuentes fan. Sadly, that Fuentes jackass appeals to a lot of young guys who need someone to blame and those who think it's cool and edgy to be a bigot. I hope this MSU student realizes he's wrong and his behavior is fundamentally immoral, something he doesn't right now. I'm a big fan of forgiveness and he can turn his life around and become a successful engineer and decent person.

Count me in on that. I mean “they put Jesus to death!!! Those sorry devils!!”

Well, yea. That is kind of an important event in Christianity that was prophesied and set in motion many generations before. It’s not like it was a sneak attack that scrapped the entire plan.
According to the Reflector, Pat McClinton from Madison, the grown man who attacked a Jewish man in broad daylight, has dropped out of school.
