Despite the 50 million dollar payout mountain I still don’t think Franklin will be back next year. The way this season is going to finish will be horrendous. They’ll negociate the payout down. There is no way Franklin comes back. First loss next year the whole mess of this year repeats itself. The stadium will be half empty and nothing but booing. Recruiting will collapse. Franklin is a multimillionaire already. No coach would want to go through what Franklin will if he comes back. And for his family either. Moreover, the rest of this season will likely be hell for Franklin as well.
I'm not trying to convince anyone anything. I am just offering my personal perspective.

He's coached as if he had Tosu's roster. He doesn't.
Is he coming in Monday? My point is, even in the scenario where we can get him he's not coming in until after his season ends and we are going to have lost recruits by then.
We are friendly with Kevin Brown's family. I'd be interested in hearing his thoughts but would never dream of asking Tim about this disaster.

SIAP.... watching guys jump up and pound their chest, make (they hope) photo ready gremaces after simply making a G.D. tackle, is really turning me against supporting this team through this tough time. It bothers me more than the careless penalties. After the past 5 games prior to this one, there was no cause to expect celebrity status as a player, yet, there it was once again. Hard to watch!!!
They still would have lost unless a year of eligibility was magically found for Saquon Barkley and Warren and they would have come back.
I guess I feel that a loss is a loss whether by 1 point or 20. BTW, NW could have popped it in on that last drive. And they should have.
Because ‘everyone gets a trophy’ and it was Singleton’s turn to be on the field. Never mind the game was on the line. No accountability. The best running back was put on the bench by the coaching staff.
I’d like to thank Penn State and Coach Franklin. I have grown as a fan and enjoyed my time in Happy Valley. With that being said, I am entering the Fan Transfer Portal and entertaining NIL offers.

Well, this was my thought too..... I'm going for Terry Smith.
Just looked it up - Right to Know is applicable for state of PA information requests. We need to know what’s in those contracts. I think the contracts harmed the 2025 team.
The problem is PSU doesn’t consider itself a state agency for freedom of information. They don’t answer those requests.
Just did a little research and it appears that NIL deals are confidential in PA and exempt from RTKL. The student-athlete is obligated to share the information with the university, but the university keeps it confidential.
