Is he coming in Monday? My point is, even in the scenario where we can get him he's not coming in until after his season ends and we are going to have lost recruits by then.

We are friendly with Kevin Brown's family. I'd be interested in hearing his thoughts but would never dream of asking Tim about this disaster.
After tonight's loss and Franklins statements in the press conference I'm not sure he survives the season.

Maybe I miss read what Franklin was trying to convey when asked about him still wanting to be here or be the head coach here and he said his loyalties are to the players never mentioning the university or the program. So, I think we need to wait and see what may transpire going forward.

As for someone or anyone coming in Monday that's not the way it works or has ever worked that I've ever seen and there is still the money issue if he chooses not to leave.

Figure out an agreement for Franklin tomorrow and move on.

Cignetti loses to OSU twice in the next 8 weeks and realizes he doesn’t have the resources to compete at IU. Hire Cignetti.

FOIA is all government not just federal.
FOIA FAQ

"Each federal agency handles its own records in response to requests. There are currently one hundred agencies subject to the FOIA with several hundred offices that process FOIA requests. Your request will receive the quickest possible response if it is addressed directly to the FOIA office of the agency or agency component that you believe has the records you are seeking. See the list of federal agencies for the individual contact information for each agency."

Urban has been out of coaching for awhile. He looks heavy on TV. He isn’t up to it physically and he’s had mental issues in the past. He’s way too risky.
Josh Heupel gains about 10 pounds a week (only kind of exaggerating) I don't think Meyer's weight is an issue
If you don't want him for other reasons I completely understand but the weight thing is odd--football coaches can be fat--see Andy Reid for starters.

Indiana's win over Oregon today reminded me that you can't judge the "success atributes" of a head coach by appearance or media ready personality. looking at Curt Cignetti on the Indiana's sideline near the end of their game today was a stark reminder. The real challenge for University administrations is to cypher out true potential of perspective coaches without being predjudiced by outward stimulus. The same is true in the corporate world, but in sports, the passionate "stakeholders" (fans) seem to be far more demanding.

Ok I’ll spell it out for you, he’s been sitting at a desk, not coaching. He’s heavy. He’s had mental problems. He’s not up to it. Nothing odd at all.

Does he even want to coach anymore. Plus, I doubt we could afford him, but I guess you never know how those things could get worked out. Doubt it would be a bad choice he does know how to recruit and win. The thing is, in so many ways PS is not like coaching at OSU.

True but I think you have to at least make that call. The worst that happens is he says no. Right now PSU has 3 options that I see:

1. Keep Franklin with the buyout issues. Lose the fan base. Go 5-7 (or something around that likely). Lose major recruits the next few weeks. Players may portal out??

2. Hire a Cignetti/ Rhule type coach. Not a flashy hire (not saying it’s a bad hire- just a ‘wait and see’ hire). Watch recruits leave and players portal. Put the program back a few years in the transition.

3. Hire a big name like Urban. (This assumes he’s even interested which he may not be). This at least brings in someone with gravitas and interest nationally which may save recruiting and actually open the portal more for PSU. This is the only option that immediately resets the narrative and could (potentially) push PSU forward.

The human side of me feels a little bad for him because I know he obviously wants to do well, but with world class salary also comes world class expectations. He’s a 1 percenter now because of this job, so he’ll be ok.

Same as the booing, always hated to see it with the players, but honestly, it’s different now. QB driving high end Porsches and many cashing huge checks makes me not see them as kids anymore and a little less sympathetic. Just don’t care as much.
He's actually a .1%er

Again, him gaining weight has nothing to do with his ability to coach. It's just a ridiculous comment.
It's highly unlikely he's forgotten how to coach. The comment about his weight is odd.
The mental problems comment or if you think he doesn't want to coach or you don't think the scandals--that all makes sense.
He wins--period.

I don't see this bunch becoming bowl eligible at this point. Who are they going to beat? Ruskers? UMd?

If you can't tackle or field a punt you don't deserve to be in the bowl conversation. And there goes your recruiting class. All gone.

Going to be a very tough few years ahead.

Because ‘everyone gets a trophy’ and it was Singleton’s turn to be on the field. Never mind the game was on the line. No accountability. The best running back was put on the bench by the coaching staff.
There is loyalty to your players but, there comes a time when arrogance and stubbornness are overtaken by stupidity

Option #4. Neither of options 1 thru 3.

Urban will not happen. There is no way PSU hires a coach of highly questionable moral character.

He couldn’t win in Jacksonville.

I agree with you.

I was talking about recruits starting to decommit. We are not having a savior walk in on Monday to take control of this team so it doesn't matter who we end up with, commits are going to start rethinking their commitment starting tonight. It's going to be a bumpy road for the class of 2026 2027 until they get this figured out.

I’d like to thank Penn State and Coach Franklin. I have grown as a fan and enjoyed my time in Happy Valley. With that being said, I am entering the Fan Transfer Portal and entertaining NIL offers. 💰 💴 💵

Respect my decision. 😂

Of course, I’m kidding but seriously though, this sucks. It feels like 2020.
Well you certainly have a very strong travel resume.
