I still don't get why they hired him in the first place. I didn't expect him to be that bad, but that was never a good hire. They're better off going the same route they went with Fedora.
I never understood that either. They should have just promoted Fedora's offensive coordinator. But he pissed a lot of people off while he was in Hattiesburg and especially the way he left and screwed the fans by picking the bowl in Hawaii. I think they wanted all reminders of him gone. I really don't care about them at all, but even I feel sorry for them this year and hope they'll at least win the last game. I'm not betting on it though.
Forget that, I want USM to be completely irrelevant.....
I know people don't think they are a threat to us, but unlike other states, some of our depth building recruits would go there to play quickly instead of coming to MSU or Ole Miss to redshirt and develop, even though we're SEC. That doesn't happen with Alabama/Auburn and Troy/UAB/USA. We could have used a number of USM players over the years that they got simply because they were relevant enough to 'show the love' and attract guys like Tracy Lampley and Kendrick Hardy. Yeah, I know those guys may not have been priorities for us, but they would have been attractive B level guys instead of some of the scrubs we end up having to take because we miss on the 4 stars.

Maybe because I'm from Hattiesburg I can't exactly sympathize there. I sort of like USM honestly but it kind of sucks to see them doing this badly. Also, I'd be willing to bet that Alabama and Auburn deal with those same issues too. It just doesn't seem like that to us because we don't keep up with their recruiting as much as we keep up with ours and Ole Miss. Recruits are going to do that regardless, but it's usually not a big enough of a dent to matter for the most part anyway.

One of my few USM friends was getting nervous that their perfect winless season was in jeopardy this past weekend. I'm in the same boat, let them lose out and be irrelevant to the extent we throttle them in 2014-2015.
Im from Hattie too. Southern fans can eat a dick. They are extremely jeleous of State and Ole Miss and they all claim that we use the SEC as a "crutch". In their world, the only reason Southern is anything less than State or UM is because the SEC gives us a welfare check. And somehow we are purposely holding them down. That's been their attitude for as long as I remember. Don't even get me started on the "scared to play us" business.
