It's easy to say that in hindsight but when you have one of the best backs in the country you have to think he can get you 2 yards to ice the game
Tough call. The RB had feasted all night. The coach wanted to enforce his will and trust his kids to almost end the game. Punt was probably better call, but I don't think going for it was a bad one honestly.
my take on it is Davidson proved all night we couldn't stop them. So why only give them 50 yds to go instead of making them go 80-90 yds with 1:30 left. Me myself I'm punting... Still don't understand why you run the jet sweep to the short side of the field. Still shaking my head about this game! CONGRATS TO N. DAVIDSON though. But my fear came true last night. We couldn't defend the pass all year and that caught up with us last night.
I dont think not punting hurt the Scots as much as their secondary. My buddy at the game said ND lit up the CB all night when they threw the ball.
As a ND fan, I really wanted Scotland to punt. I'm not sure ND had stuffed White for less than two yards all night. That kid is awesome.
I was surprised when I saw the formation, though. I turned to a friend and said 'jet sweep to 34'. Everybody in the stadium knew he was getting the ball, and that was the only way he was going to get it out of that formation.

A good coach trusts his players in the big situations...sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.....the Richmond coach goes for two to win and it works and he is a hero....Scotland coach tries to get two yards to ice the game and it fails and he all of a sudden can't coach......when you have a chance to get two yards and win the game you do it every time....no one wants to play for someone who plays not to lose rather than playing to win
Listen,it's simple. Bailey wanted to get a jump on his acting career. More commercials to be made. Refer to my post at beginning of year. Someone said they heard the chase for the ring had started in Scotland county, my reply, with Bailey as coach it was already over.

That's about all you have left in your artillery, go_scots, but it's accurate. But what is also accurate is that even though Bailey is arguably a top 10 4A coach, he's the Peyton Manning of coaches.
Shoulda, Coulda. Woulda....... We lost!!!! Coach Bailey had said at the beginning of the season that our secondary was our Achilles Heel, because we didn't have the depth back there and it hurt us in the end. So going for it on 4th down was the right call in my opinion.

i dont have a problem with him going for it on 4th down its not like the scots were playing lights out on D. my problem was the play call. a jet sweep??
North Davidson out coached Scotland all night 4th and 2 didn't beat them not covering a onside kick and letting a midget catch the ball on the 6yard line pass interferance would have been ok on 4 down but don't let them bomb on you ,oh and by the way theses are kids let them play the whole game rest a play or two but let build up and get use to playing the whole game when you got them down keep them down. When I was 16 ,17 ,18 I could go all night , thats where injuries come from

I think you are lost Been on the field. The Coach said that they didn't have "DEPTH" in the secondary if they had injuries back there. So you can't fix the weakness, if you don't have the people to fix it with!!!!!
